How to unlock the Man of Steel achievement in The Surge - Definitive Guide

Just adding on to the solution guide by "footpickle" but not in a comment so it's easier to see.

In order to unlock this achievement you do need to use the Nano cores on the same brand of gear (ie. MG Gorgon). Doing this on a first run is a better option but I didn't like one gear set personally so I mixed up my gear and ended up not getting the achievement.

I'm now on my second playthrough and recollecting all the nano cores. I will update if you can leave some of the gear at level 5 and get the rest to level 10 just to get the achievement.

**Update**
I just re-collected all of the nano cores in the game and ended up at 18 for my second playthrough. I now know it does not count if you leave some of the gear at level 5 and others at level 10. What you can do if you don't like having a full set is upgrade all the gear of one brand, wait for the achievement to pop before closing out of the gear upgrade screen, and then quit the game. This worked for me so it should work for you.

I also just found out that you can get extra nano cores from defeating the big nanite enemies that appear. I'm pretty sure you have to hit them enough for them to spawn the mini-me enemy and then kill that one before you kill the main one. This only worked for me in NG+.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

There are override stations located in various locations across the Surge areas. They will have a level displayed on them that you will need to be at or over in order to interact with one of them. Once you’re that level, you will need to interact with it and it will drop Nano core crafting components. You will then be able to use these components to upgrade your weapons / gear to their highest level. You will need to interact with quite a few of these override stations in order to obtain enough Nano crafting gear in order to obtain these trophies. Once you have enough, go back to the med bay and go to gear assembly. In gear assembly go to the upgrades tab and select what gear or weapon you want to use the Nano Cores on. For the gear, you will need to upgrade all 6 pieces (Head, Body, 2x Arms, & 2x legs) in order to earn the trophy.

If you didn’t do it on the 1st playthrough, on NI+ all under-upgraded equipment will be automatically upgraded (at the first upgrade) to the minimum level of NI+ (weapons of level 1 will immediately upgrade to 6 - for example). Nanocores, in one playthrough, are enough to upgrade a set of armor, weapons, and there will still be the rest of 4 things.

Nanocores can be found in special chests of 2 pieces in different parts of the locations. Boxes are torn off with an exoskeleton charge of 55 or higher. Nanocores are needed to upgrade weapons and equipment to the maximum level 5. To win the trophy, you need to upgrade all pieces of equipment from one set . To do this, you need 3 cores for the body, 2 for the head and one for each arm and leg, for a total of 9 nanocores. It will also require over 100,000 parts on your first playthrough.

In one playthrough, you can collect nanonuclei for only one set of armor and one weapon. (it’s better to combine trophies just in case)
There are also a couple of cabinets with cores in the DLS of the amusement park.

Don't put off upgrading to NG+. In NG+, equipment upgrades begin at level VI and nanocores will have to be collected again.

I’m not sure about the first playthrough, somehow I didn’t pay attention, but on NG+, cannonballs fell in the last location from shapeless relic mobs, they also transform into a turret and summon a small relic. One core from one mob...
