Defeated a boss while carrying at least 20,000 Tech Scrap

How to unlock the Overconfident achievement in The Surge - Definitive Guide

This achievement is actually pretty easy. Best way to do it is to save up 20k worth of tech scrap consumables. Fight any boss and right when your about to land the killing blow use the consumables. Hit the boss and kill them. Voila achievement unlocked. I did this on the sister boss.

To be fair.. the sort cut from spawn to the sister fight is really short. Only one low level mob to pass by. So if even if you went into the fight with 20k it would be super easy to reclaim it if you die to the boss. Unlike souls you corpse doesnt end up inside the boss room but outside somewhere.

I got this fighting the Firebug using the "wait until you land the killing blow and consume 20k in scrap" method. Worked slick.

I just wanted to add that DLC bosses do NOT count for this achievement. I beat all the DLC bosses with over 20k scrap on me and no achievement.

Yeah, I got this on the sister boss, I had just accumulated about 29k getting to it, went back to med bay and realised how short the run was from med to sister and just made sure I collected my scrap (it's really easy to do) every time I died.

This way you can hang onto your consumables and Big Sister gives 10,000 scrap, then you can use the consumables after the fight to get the 50k achievement.

Missable

All you have to do to obtain this trophy is have 20,000 tech scrap banked when you defeat a boss. You can do these one of two ways. One way is to go into the fight with 20,000 tech scrap and go through the boss fight like that. Another way is to get the boss down to minimal health and go into your menu and go to inventory then consumables and start using your material scrap to gain enough tech scrap to get you to 20,000, then beat the boss.

The first step is to clear a short cut to one of the game's five bosses, so you can get there relatively effortlessly. If you're unsure of your skills, make a few practice runs against the boss to learn it's patterns, but refrain from killing it! Then, collect the required 20,000 Tech Scrap (preferably by killing, not popping piles from your inventory, so you don't run into trouble when trying to get "Nothing to Lose") and go kill the boss. It's a good idea to learn the route to the boss well, so you don't get lost should you die, so your precious Tech Scrap doesn't fade away.

Opinions will vary what boss is the easiest to do this against. Personally, I went for LU-74 Firebug. The mobs in this area drop decent amounts of Tech Scrap so farming 20,000 didn't take long, either.

Before dealing the final blow to the boss, click on the character menu and use spare parts.

Big SISTER is best. She will not surprise you with anything at the end of the battle, and if you confidently reach the minimum of her HP, then victory is in your pocket.
(The third boss is in the second location.)

I couldn’t pull this off on the first boss, I deliberately got confused and farmed 23k spare parts, but they didn’t give me a trophy. On the second one it fell out without any problems.

In fact, the trophy is simpler than it seems. I got it by accident on Black Cerberus. The fact is that I don’t attack bosses right away and you have every opportunity to calmly pick up your spare parts. So I, trying to kill Cerberus in a special way, often blunted and caught a one-shot from PAX’s leg. As a result, running from the medical station to the boss, I accumulated 30k spare parts and with them I will receive the coveted achievement =)

Collect 20,000 spare parts before any boss or use metal to get them, exit the game, copy the save to the cloud and calmly beat the boss. If you lose, it doesn’t matter, restore your save from the cloud and try again, attempts are unlimited.

Or an even simpler way, in the event of the death of a character, press the PS button and quickly close the application, load the game and we again appear not far from the boss with all our spare parts.
