How to unlock the Suited and Booted achievement in The Surge - Definitive Guide

There are 6 armor sets added in this DLC. Three of them can be acquired from normal enemies in each chapter and the other three from the three bosses. The vanity rewards from the Modifiers are not part of this. The more modifiers you put on will increase the chance of Frontier Gear under the reward summary.

Normal enemies:
(Name - Identifying aspect)

Angel of Death - Sombrero
Spirit Animal - Wolf Head
Stealthy Assassin* - Top Hat

Bosses:
(Name - Where to find them)

Westwolf - Totem Wolf (Boss Chapter 1, 5)
Secret Assassin* - Undertaker (Boss Chapter 3, 7, 9)
Grim Fashion - La Muerte (Boss Chapter 2, 4, 6, 8)

There is a chance you will get the normal armor from bosses, if you cut the desired part of the boss but it drops the regular armor (Or just fail to cut the limb like me) instead of the boss armor, just quit the game from the menu after you killed the boss. Loading the game back up will spawn you before the boss room and you get another chance. Worked like a charm for me. This way you only need four runs through the episode to get all the boss armor. (Thank you MarekVit)

* - Not sure on these, they could be swapped. (They are correct, thank you MarekVit)

I am still working on the weapons achievement so if i come across anything else helpful I will update this solution. Any feedback is welcome, especially if I am wrong about something.

From MarekVit in the comments:

Best places to farm each of the sets:

ANIMAL SPIRIT - episode one
ANGEL OF DEATH - episode two
STEALTHY ASSASSIN - episode three
WESTWOLF - boss episode one
GRIM FASHION - boss episode two
SECRET ASSASSIN - boss episode three

Stupid question, but it's been a LONG time since I played this game. The achievement asks us to craft the armor, does that mean crafting 2 leg pieces and 2 arm pieces?

@SiegfriedX - Yes, but they don't have to be the same quality so you can use higher/lower grade materials for each piece.

I have almost all pieces, and it sucks that these aren't very good overall. Just look pretty. The mouse armor rocks in comparison.

The stamina regen the Gorgon armor gives makes it pretty much the default armor set I've found. Nothing beats faster stamina regeneration in a game built around it.

There are six total gear sets in this DLC. Three can be obtained from the basic enemies, while three are specific to the three bosses. These are as follows:

  • Spirit Animal - obtained from basic enemies with wolf heads.
  • Westwolf - obtained from Totem Wolf boss.
  • Stealthy Assassin - obtained from basic enemies with top hat and bandanna.
  • Secret Assassin - obtained from La Muerte boss.
  • Angel of Death - obtained from basic enemies with cowboy hat.
  • Grim Fashion - obtained from Undertaker boss.

The basic gear sets as mentioned above will drop from normal DLC-specific enemies, or the bosses if you do not increase your chances for unique gear with the modifiers. Using modifiers, you can increase the chance that you will face DLC-specific enemies during the level, as well as the chance of "V2" gear being equipped on the bosses. The more difficult the modifier, the higher the chance. I would suggest using the Free Healthcare, Rush Hour, and Danger Close mods when grinding out schematics and weapons. This gives you a Very High chance at normal gear, and a High chance of the boss-specific V2 gear, while not making the episode overly difficult. And remember, you can use shortcuts to make the episodes go more quickly. You only need to use the first three episodes to grind this out. You can Spirit Animal and Westwolf in Episode 1, Stealthy and Secret Assassin in Episode 2, and Angel of Death and Grim Fashion in Episode 3.

Once you have unlocked all the schematics by cutting off all the appropriate body parts from basic enemies and bosses, you'll then need to craft them. Assuming you have been cutting off a large amount of body parts throughout the DLC, you should have all the components necessary, and you'll get hundreds of thousands of scrap per episode with those three modifiers on as well, so that won't be an issue. It might be obvious but just to be clear, you can only get one item from the bosses per run of the episode, so you'll need a minimum of four runs per boss (head, body, leg, arm and weapon), though some bosses have multiple weapons which I'll go over in the next achievement.

To get the trophy you need to collect 6 full sets of armor:
1. Totem Beast - can be obtained from the first boss ( Totem Wolf ) and ordinary enemies without using modifiers
2. Wolf of the West - can only be obtained from the first boss ( Totem Wolf ) using modifiers, thereby maximizing the chance of dropping equipment version 2.0
3. Angel of Death - can be obtained from the second boss ( La Muerte ) and ordinary enemies without using modifiers
4. Reaper - can only be obtained from the second boss ( La Muerte ) using modifiers, thereby maximizing the chance of dropping version 2.0 equipment
5. Hidden Assassin - can be obtained from the third boss ( Undertaker ) and ordinary enemies without using modifiers
6. Secret Assassin - can only be obtained from the third boss ( Undertaker ) using modifiers, thereby maximizing the chance of dropping version 2.0 equipment
PS: I used the three most difficult modifiers: rightmost column, 2nd, 3rd and 4th down. Well, accordingly, use shortcuts to get to the boss as quickly as possible.

I’ll add that it’s NOT ENOUGH to simply farm all the blueprints; you need to CREATE ALL PARTS of all sets; this is 6 sets of 6 parts = 36 in total.
STOCK UP with “souls”!!

if you run with the modifiers of chapters 1-2-3, respectively, then you can cut off the armor sets of the first version from ordinary monsters.
I don’t really understand whether modifiers affect the equipment of monsters... but in any case, I set the treatment to be picked up from first aid kits, with a timer, to hit with fists, and drop energy cells from enemies.
in general, so that the chance of components is x2.0
