How to unlock the Changed My Mind. achievement in The Talos Principle - Definitive Guide

Edit: Some people appear to have not had the exact same experience as me. If you have any issues at all, check the various comments below toast

After ascending the tower, you'll find yourself walking up a long flight of stairs. Get right to the top of them, to the point where you reach an outdoor platform above, then turn back around and go all the way back down.

Descend the tower by any method which pleases you (jumping is fun!), and go back into building C and take the lift down.

Head through the enormous doors in the Cathedral and use the terminal beyond.

Achievement unlocked!

Now STOP GAME and RESET FROM AN EARLIER CHECKPOINT to continue your initial path.

The point of no return is after finishing the 5th floor puzzle and climbing the stairs through the clouds, Elohim will say "I did not warn you out of malice or deceit, I warned you because you are my child!" this is the point of no return. As long as you don't take the next set of stairs you can go back.

I have noted in the solution and the comments you can go all the way up. Don't forget achievements sometimes have a delayed pop.

Yep, I'm sure it wasn't delayed, just needed to reach the 'On The Edge' checkpoint first.

FYI once you do this, there is no backup saved after you complete Tower Level 5. I just scored this achievement and hoped to complete the top of the Tower afterward, but my latest backup was before completing Tower Level 5. The wall scanner isn't even busted. Level 5 is completely from the beginning, which is annoying because that floor was slightly annoying to complete. I don't know if there is a way to save the game, but maybe once you finish Tower Floor 5 if you quit the game maybe if saves a backup? Although I doubt it as when you "STOP THE GAME" it says you will lose your progress since last checkpoint. So maybe once you complete 5 if you jump off the tower maybe it'll save a checkpoint for you? Dunno. BOO because I don't feel like doing 5 again. I think I quit. Enjoy eternity Mind Changers.

Just so people in my situation know, my game bugged out right at the top of the tower, with a dead helper. I reloaded checkpoint (which takes you to the start of the tower puzzle section) and decided to jump off and try for this. Cheevo popped. Loading the latest checkpoint then takes you pre-Level5 puzzle tho so seems that's a temp checkpoint

I am late to the party, but i want to note that it is actually possible to do every achievement and ending in a single playthrough, a setup can be done so that every ending can be achieved from the same save that can be reloaded, doing very few additional steps per ending.
I am not interested in guide creation, but if anyone is still interested, DM me.

It seemed necessary to fully climb the stairs when I got this today, as noted above. Turning back and ascending to eternal life a couple of times before that was too early and didn't pop the achievement; this one finally worked for me immediately after 'On The Edge' which pops at the very top of the stairs.

I'd actually be a little surprised if you can't go even further than this, considering the way that Elohim pleads with the player to turn back during the tower top puzzle and the platform outside it being the final checkpoint. However, I can't be sure since I jumped down again and got the achievement before starting the puzzle!

You can go all the way up - as long as you don't start anything when you reach the platform at the top of the stairs, you're safe to jump back down.

Go high enough in the tower to where you would unlock 'On The Edge'

Then then leave the tower and go through the Gates of Eternity in land C and use the terminal to end the game.

To unlock this achievement, you first need to collect all red sigils and use them to ascend The Tower. Complete all floors, including completing Floor 5. Now, where you ext Floor 5 and head up the spiral staircase to the top, DO NOT enter the purple barrier at the top to enter the puzzle area. Instead, when you get to the purple barrier, wait there for Elohim to finish commanding you not to proceed. When he's done, head back down (either take the stairs and then the elevator, or just jump off since there's no fall damage) and enter World C, and enter the double doors with the white light, unlocking this achievement.

Elohim will beg and plead for you to return after you fully ascend the tower. Once you have climbed the spiral staircase, go back down, jump off the tower(you won't die, trust me), go into World C and go through the giant glowing door for Ending A.

After the fifth floor of the tower, we rise to the end of the spiral staircase and end the game by passing through the gate in Temple S.
