The sooner you start on this achievement the better to get it out the way as karma has a big impact on the game.

Whenever you defeat an enemy they are simply knocked out. To gain negative karma you must kill them by pressing which drains there serum.

In order to check what your current karma status is. Press then RT until you come to Stats then press RB until you get to the Reputation screen. There are two Negative Karma levels bad and As bad as its gets .

As soon as your reputation hits As Bad As It Gets then the achievement will unlock. I would estimate in total you must kill and drain around 30 -40 humans.

Killing and draining the Insects does not count.

You have to get your karma level to say "As Bad As It Gets." In order to lower your karma, have to knockout human enemies and then drain their serum when they are down (Y button). Keep doing this to every human enemy you encounter from the beginning and you should have it partially though the sub-mission kill the deserters.

The easiest way to rack up bad karma is by killing (draining) enemies after you have knocked them out.

Having bad karma will make certain achievements missable, so if you want to get all achievements in one run avoid killing everyone until chapter three. In chapter three the soldiers in Ophir will be hostile towards you, so you have a lot of people available to be killed. Now, make a save to revert back to, and go on a killing spree. I started at the lift in the underworks, went through the exchange, then hit all the checkpoints in the slums and got the achievement. If the achievement does not pop after that the soldiers will have respawned at the start of the loop.

When your are in the company of companions or others that are in your party make sure when you knock an enemy out you hit to drain serum which kills them. You will then see that you have collected the serum and then under that a negative -1 in red stating a minus in karma. Hope this helps.
