How to unlock the Depression achievement in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter - Definitive Guide
This is the first murder scene in the game that takes place on the track a little on from the beginning. You're required to put the scene back together again by investigating clues and then tagging areas of interest in a specific order.
Below is a video and text guide to help you complete the puzzle and net the achievement.
After grabbing the rock move forward again to find a gasoline canister and inspect the dried grass next to it. Further along the track again to the left, you'll come to a rumble of rocks, inspecting the pile will give you the option to place the rock in a slot, do so. Turn back and walk along the track until you come to a left turn. Here you'll find a body which can be inspected straight away but we need to complete more steps to be able to touch it and progress so, for now, head down past the body to reach the beach where you'll locate the crank needed for the train near the shore.
As with the rock, collect the crank and make your way back up the hill to the train. Return to the front of the train and you'll now have the option to place the crank. After doing so mash the A button to start up the train. Climb inside the train and pull back on LS to move the train in a backwards direction. Pan back on the camera as the train moves to line the train up with the gas canister you located earlier and release LS and then exit the train.
Approach the dead body again and notice you're now able to touch it. Hold down on the A button to witness a change in the environment and blue orbs beginning to fall in various locations. The next step is to make all areas of the scene appear visually so simply walk along the tracks near to the items of interest you inspected earlier and characters will start to appear. There are a total of 6 with 4 along the tracks and 2 (including the body) on the left path. Once all 6 have appeared you'll need to tag them in the correct order to finish this part of the investigation and complete the scene.
Tag 1 is the scene closest to where you found the train at the start so walk up to it and press A to tag. The second tag is at the opposite end of the track where you placed the rock. 3 is by the train and 4 is the next scene along from it on the track. 5 is the body you found and 6 is just a few yards away towards the beach.
When you complete all the steps and correctly tag each scene in order you'll be given the chance to visualise the crime, do so by press Y. From here you'll see the entire crime played out in stages. Once it's complete and you have full control again, make your way down the cliff to trigger the final scene on the path and unlock the 60GS.

Walking along the train tracks close to the beginning you'll come across a stationary train. Approach the front of the train and inspect with A when prompted. Words will begin to appear and move, eventually prompting the player to locate a crank to start the train moving. Follow the train track along until you come to some rope lying across the tracks. Inspect the rope and move forward to find a body part on the track with a trail of blood moving to the right, inspect again and move on to find a rock on the ground in front of a tree stump just off of the track to the left which can be picked up by inspecting and pressing A.

Good text. Easy to follow. I dont like videos. It should maybe be mentioned that the crank is in the water. Had some trouble finding it
