How to unlock the Better Late Than Never achievement in The VideoKid - Definitive Guide
There’s a train that comes out in the second sewer, throw a tape at the switch on the wall to stop it.
My achievement walkthrough:
If you need more help feel free to ask
The course is 1634 meters long and there are about 35 red postal boxes that you need to throw VHS tapes at.
For this run don't attempt to deliver any VHS tapes and just focus on completing the course.
Stick to the left and middle sections of the course and move out the way or jump over any obstacles. When you get to the second sewer section you need to throw a VHS tape at a switch at the end of the course to stop the tram from hitting you.
In the final street section you will be challenged to a face-off with a red car whose occupants throw firecrackers at you. Jump over these and when the car starts to move back go to the far right section and press B to jump over the car and quickly press Left twice to avoid the on coming manure truck.
In the small stretch at the end after the red car just stick to the left UNLESS you see the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man coming towards you in which case quickly move to the middle section of the street.
Once you complete your run of the course just do it two more times to unlock:
See 3rd Time’s the Charm.
Upon reaching Jessica for the first time, this will unlock. The main things to take note of are when you reach the car that has an occupant throwing explosives at you, to dodge left and right to avoid them. When he stops throwing them, move in front of this car and climb over it by pressing and then when you get back onto the road to avoid a collision. The final stretch to Jessica can get a bit nuts but the main thing to look out for is the Ghostbuster's Stay Puft Marshmellow Man. If you see his giant leg come onto the screen, move into the centre lane (left road lane) to go between his legs. If it's a giant robot, stay on the footpath.
Here is a playthrough of the level. Credit to Old School Game Blog for the video.
