Near the end of the Act 1 after you cross the rushing water, you will be in a cave with AJ. After some dialogue you will get a choice between saying you trust AJ to make the right choice when it comes to killing someone, or that he isn't ready yet. (You get an achievement for either choice so you may want to make a backup save during this scene)

For this achievement, say that you don't think he is ready yet. Now continue playing into Act 2. There is a scene on a bridge then you climb a cliff - the achievement pops after that scene.

Choosing the other option (you trust AJ to make that choice) will unlock the Goodbye achievement instead.

Been a while since I've played, but there should be save file management option somewhere on the main menu. There's no manual saving, you just have to quit to the main menu and make copy of your autosave when appropriate.

The only thing that sucks is you have to sit through the whole game all over again to do a simple part again. it really sucks. I spent like the last 4 hours today going through all the episodes to get to a very specific part just to do a simple dialogue change or something. I wish there was a fast-forward button if you beat the game already. (this is for countless achievements, roughly 9 of them I had to go back through).

Not sure if it’s new, which would be a little odd, but this game now has episode select so you can restart each episode. Not the best solution or fastest, but I played this with my fiancé and told her to not care about achievements and had to go back on my own, again not great, but is an option to clean up what you missed compared to following a save guide or replaying the entire game for people that just want a first time play through done. The way the game is intended.

The save system is not a part of the latest version of the game on GamePass for Xbox. They must not want people to explore different paths. I used to do this with the first three games, but this one has no Save option. It is all autosave. Replaying the ENTIRE game is now necessay in order to get all achievements.

Not a guide, just a note in case anyone else runs into this issue...

My copy save was glitching out after I used that strategy for episode 1. After that, it wouldn't let me copy. It would just overwrite as a blank save. Not sure if anyone else ran into this glitch, but I didn't see it posted anywhere when it happened to me and thought I was going nuts. So, making it known for anyone else running into this issue.

Anyway, since my copy save wasn't working / glitching out, I had to replay this episode again after the first achievement popped to get the other one. Definitely longer than getting to use the copy save strat, but at least there are episode selects!

Note: For the other episode achievement guides that say make the copy first, they were doable without that by hard quitting after the achievement popped.

During Act 1 in the cave after you cross the riverbank, you'll be talking to AJ and will have to make a choice to trust him or not. At the end of Act One, after crossing the stream with your group, you'll enter into a long dialogue with AJ. Make sure to quit to the main menu and make a copy of your save file to avoid needing to replay Act One again.
