you dont need to pet her. picking any of the choices unlocks the achievement.

0:20 - Collectible - Boar Skull 1/3
0:54 - Achievement - Botanist (Part1)
1:13 - Collectible - Mushroom 2/3
1:13 - Achievement - Edible
1:40 - Achievement - Botanist
4:20 - Collectible - Venus FlyTrap 3/3

Act 3
4:43 - Achievement - Great Girl - When you are out in the courtyard, go to the graves at the back of the area and you will see Rosie the dog, Simply Pet her and this achievement unlocks.
5:40 - Acheivement - Be Prepared
8:41 - Achievement - Sureshot
10:10 - Achievement - Bonded
11:55 - Achievement - Moving Fast
13:20 - Achievement - Deadeye

*Missable*

In Act 3 when you're preparing and getting the "Be Prepared" achievement, Rosie the dog will be by the graves. Talk to her and pet her to unlock this achievement.

MISSABLE

During Act 3 in the courtyard while preparing your defenses, go over to the graves and you will find Rosie lying by Marlon's grave. Go up to her and pet her.

When you need to check everyone in the yard, go to the cemetery and Rosie will be lying near Marlon’s grave, pet her and the achievement is yours.
