How to unlock the Social Butterfly achievement in The Walking Dead: The Final Season - Definitive Guide

This achievement is earned during Act 1, when your objective is to "Help AJ Make Friends", back at the school courtyard. You'll have to speak to every available person/group before seeing Marlon. There should be 5 optional conversations to have, and having all of them will unlock this. The following missable achievement can be seen in the video below at 2:14:

If this is missed, players will need to restart the episode from the beginning. It is advised that you back out to the main menu, and copy your saves manually every once in a while just in case to allow for an easier mop-up.

I was following your missable guide, and didn't realize you didn't include collectibles, for the last 2 missable achievements, so starting this episode over...again. I always thought it would be a good idea to have missables due to branching path stories, but i take it all back with all of these missable collectibles, etc, with no way to go back.

Is this really missable? I tried talking to Marlon after speaking to four others, but it said I wasn't ready. I was forced to speak to the fifth and final person before I could speak to Marlon and progress the story.

It is missable you only have to talk to four groups before AJ says he's ready I wasn't playing with a guide and missed talking to Omar.

@Myths Armada - thanks for your feedback, but it doesn’t work quite as you think. I played through twice and both and I was forced to speak to 5 groups:

I had to speak to Aasim before I could speak to Marlon, but one of the other conversations could be optional.

So I played through Episode 1 again and did the following:
Tried speaking to Marlon (option to speak to Marlon is removed)
1. Spoke to Aasim (option to speak to Marlon is still removed)
2. Spoke to Ruby (option to speak to Marlon is still removed)
3. Spoke to Louis (option to speak to Marlon is still removed)
4. Spoke to Mitch (option to speak to Marlon is still removed)
5. Spoke to Violet
Able to speak to Marlon

What I didn’t try was leaving Louis (Omar) until last. That means only those one or possibly two conversations are optional.

Edit: just tried leaving Louis until last, and AJ said they were ready to speak to Marlon without talking to Louis or Mitch.

In Act 1 when you're helping AJ make friends, speak to everyone in the courtyard before apologizing to Marlon (the leader/blonde guy with the dog) and you'll unlock the achievement

*Missable*

At the very end of Act 1, you'll be in a courtyard and tasked with helping AJ make friends. Talking to Marlon progresses the story, so make sure to talk to the following people first:

  • Two people on the couches
  • Two people by the fire
  • A woman by a fire by herself on the other side of the courtyard
  • Two people in the graveyard behind her
  • A guy on the front steps of the building writing a book

After talking to everyone, this achievement will unlock.

MISSABLE

After you help defend the school from the walkers, you'll need to help AJ make friends. Walk around and talk to everyone in the area. Be aware of Violet and Tenn on the left side of the school by the graves. If done right, the trophy will pop when AJ lets you know when he is ready to talk to Marlon, if not, you have missed someone and should find them before talking to Marlon.

The trophy, one way or another, can be missed. After visiting, for example, Tennessee and Violet at the cemetery and several other guys closer to Marlon, the trigger will work and AJ will be ready to apologize. Thus, it will be possible to skip, for example, the dialogue with Mitch and Willie.
