How to unlock the Master Gatherer achievement in The Wandering Village - Definitive Guide
This achievement sounds harder than it is, but with some planning and management you can get this and
If you only want to build no farms then feel free to build as many air wells as you want throughout the playthrough. But since you have no farms, your water demand is very low so it isn't too tricky. Also try not to get too much population, I was around 80 at the end and I was just about keeping all my people fed, so stick to around 60.
Start on Novice with no modifiers. Build 10 or so huts, 2-3 berry farms to start but keep building more, a worker station, research lab, 2 pantrys and water towers.
For research start with the kitchen, scavenger hut, then the seawater collector, fishery, and evaporator. After that you can pick whatever you want but you can ignore all the crops since you won't be planting them.
Get a carpenter and stonecutter up. The most important tip I can give in any playthrough of the game is get at least 2 scavenger huts up as early as you can, get a third if you have the extra materials. These scavengers are a free supply pumping machine and the earlier you have them the easier the game is. When you go through deserts make sure to prioritize oasis first to get extra water.
Mycologist and Herbalists don't count as farms so be sure to build at least one of each for the poison cure and the mushrooms to either feed Onbu or turn into soup for buffer foods. I ended with two mushroom farms and I never had to feed Onbu since the path to day 100 is pretty nice about feeding spots.
After you get at least one scavenger hut up, place down a kitchen to start making berry meals. You should eventually have 3-4 kitchens by the end. I would also recommend the Spice Rack upgrade since you get more meals from your food that way. Get a granary at some point, but honestly 4 pantrys should keep you good most of the run since you won't have a super large supply of food on hand.
Whenever you learn the ocean buildings, place down two seawater collectors and no less than 3 fisheries (the more the merrier since this will be a big buff to food when you hit the ocean.) And make sure to put all hands on deck in this buildings when you hit water.
Once you have all your fish supply going then it should be a steady game as long as you're on novice. Try to go in the ocean and deserts as long as you can for the food and water. I never had to care for Onbu since the first 100 days are pretty tame, they slept and ate on their own and were never poisoned enough for an antidote.
