How to unlock the Back off man, I'm a scientist achievement in The Wild at Heart - Definitive Guide

In order to purchase upgrades at The Grove, you first need to collect the Water Wheel. The Water Wheel is located in the north-east corner of the Central Deep Woods, and you should be able to reach it relatively early on in your playthrough.

Once you've collected the Water Wheel and returned it to The Grove, you can construct the Fabricator, and from there start purchasing upgrades. Upgrades require the in-game currency and heartroot resin.

In-game currency isn't a problem - just sell either bloom stones or mesmerite to Crow's Nest. You'll find far more of these on your journey than you'll ever need.

Heartroot resin, however, is more difficult. There are a limited number in the game, and to unlock everything, you need to complete every side quest and unlock every chest in the game, as well as a couple of other things.

Here is how to get every piece of heartroot resin:

- Unlock all chests
- Complete the Grove Trove side quest (Scrap Heap)
- Complete the Bounties side quest (Toothpicks)
- Complete the Lost Cats side quest (Litterbox)
- Buy 2 from Cath in Crystalfall Coast
- Trade 3 bloom stones with Rubbish (located in north Central Deep Woods)

If you need help locating chests or quest items, buy the Compass from Cath and give it to Paper Planes in The Grove. Sleep and return to Paper Planes, and he will give you a fixed compass which shows the location of every hidden item on the map.

Thanks.
I'm having trouble with the glowing chests. How to open them?
And that flying saucer? My creatures shove it into the wal. What I have to do in order to collect it?

You can only open the glowing chests at night. For the flying saucer, I believe there's a gate that needs to be open southwest of where the saucer is. (I encountered the same thing with the spritelings walking it into the wall.)

4700 nuts, five sets of parts and 5 batches of resin. Three upgrades.
There are a total of 32 pieces of resin in the game (Heartwood resin), which are needed to obtain all trophies for upgrades. Most of them are in chests. Some of it comes from the characters.
Scrap Heap gives one piece per 10 and per 15 delivered artifact.
Litter box gives one for every 12 cats saved.
Toothpicks gives one for all completed hunting missions
Rubbish (the creature in the trash can) gives one if you give it three Elden pears.
Cath, the giant ferret, will sell two pieces, for 1000 and 5000 nuts.
