How to unlock the Card Collector achievement in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition - Definitive Guide
This is a huge quest and requires you to collect almost 200 cards which are earned through a mixture of completing special Gwent Quests, buying them from Innkeepers and winning them by playing merchants and smiths.
To bring order to the chaos I really recommend that you use this site to record the cards as and when you get them.
http://gwentcards.com/checklist.html
For a detailed guide which highlights missable cards use this site
https://psnprofiles.com/guide/4250-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-c...
I strongly recommend that begin working on this right away.
Only take part in the quest High Stakes when you have a really strong deck as failing this quest will result in you missing some cards.
Also at the bottom of this screen you have the option to read the guides for the original version of the game.
My biggest tip is to complete the checklist this really makes things easier once you start getting a large collection. Also when you reach a point in the game when playing merchants no longer gives you a random card it means you now need only collect unique cards or buy them from inns.

Their list is not correct! Here are the last changes!
There are 4 fucking infantry! (3 versions but same image in the game)
Crinfrid Reavers Dragon Hunter only exist 2.
Checklist also fails to add one clear weather and maybe one of the other weather cards like torrential.

The in-game book "The Magnificent Guide to Gwent" can be acquired in Novigrad and shows you how many cards are missing in each region.
There are several missable cards. Gwent quests should be prioritized in order to prevent this from happening. Here's a good order:
Velen Players
Big City Players
Playing Innkeepers
Old Pals
Skellige Style
This is because Innkeepers is available early, but the opponents are too strong at that point.
In the "A Matter of Life and Death" quest, there's a very easily missable Gwent tournament in the ball where you can win the "Dandelion" card.
Here are cards that used to be missable but aren't anymore:
"Zoltan Chivay" from the very first opponent, you can find it
"Sigismund Dijkstra" from the Baron, you can find it
All the cards from the White Orchard innkeeper, which become available in the nearby merchant once you finish the prologue
The strategy to win:
Don't bother using other factions, since they only gain momentum very late in the game (especially Nilfgaardian Empire). The idea is to use Northern Realms with the leader card "Foltest: Lord Commander of the North". Even if there's no weather effect on the field, it can be good for stalling the opponent, since you don't have to play your hand when you use the leader.
This deck has weaker cards but lots of "Tight Bond" effect cards which multiply in power if there's a card of the same name alongside them. So a good NR deck must have 3 Blue Stripes Commandos, 3 Crinfrid Reavers and 2 Catapults as well as 1-2 Commander's Horn (or Dandelion) to greatly boost their attack.
Get the Sigismund Dijkstra card ASAP since you'll need all your spies (Dijkstra, Stennis, Thaler and the Mysterious Elf) to acquire hand advantage, especially against Nilfgaard. Have lots of Decoy cards in order to use enemy spies against them or recycle a healer (NR can only have two and one of them is Yennefer who is hero so she can't be reused).
The Kaedweni Siege Expert is only level 1 but it can be useful if you draw a lot of siege cards.
Usually, it's not a good idea to go all-out in the first round, since you may run out of strong cards later on. However, when playing NR, you have the faction perk that lets you draw a card when you win a round. This means you can go into second round with card advantage and a good chance to finish the game in two rounds rather than three.
Northern Realms deck is very vulnerable to Scorch so I recommend trying to bait a Scorch once you get to the harder opponents before unleashing your full power. And try not to Scorch your own cards!
The only weather card you should run is Biting Frost against Monsters deck. Biting Frost + Villetretenmerth = DESTRUCTION!
Faction-specific strategies:
Scoia'tael: It might not be a good idea to play your spies at once, since they have lots of healers and usually run Decoys (Scoia'tael has no spies). You can usually outmuscle Scoia'tael, as most of their infantry is weak. When AI plays Scoia'tael, they can pick who starts due to faction perk and always go first, which is dumb, so use it to your advantage. Scoia'tael has Muster cards, but not as strong as Monsters' cards, and they tend to use their Agility cards pretty badly as well.
Monster: Very easy to lose to one the first time. Monster is a beatdown-style deck which focuses on spamming cards wih Muster effect and boosting them either with Eredin's leader power or with Commander's Horn. So the idea is to bait them into using their strongest cards early on while you prepare for the third round. Usually, they pass on the second round, since Monsters' perk lets a random card stay on the field after a round. The Biting Frost cars absolutely DESTROYS Monsters due to most of their cards being infantry, but take care not to ruin your own infantry with it.
Nilfgaard: Probably the most dangerous opponent overall. Nilfgaard is like NR, the difference is that it trades card effects for outright power. So Nilfgaard has less Tight Bond cards but stronger ones like "Black Infantry Archer". Nilfgaard will always try to gain hand advantage with their spies, so a NR vs Nilfgaard is usually a spy trade, but Nilfgaard's spies are stronger, which you can use against them since NR can draw an extra card if they win the round. IIRC the very last Nilfgaard opponent (Sasha) has the "Emhyr var Emreis: The Relentless" leader card, which lets them draw a card from your discard pile or, in other words, reuse one of their spies.
Northern Realms: It's the same deck as yours, have Scorch ready to kill Catapults/Reavers, stop them from using Commander's Horn at all costs and be careful with their spies.

Glitch: I saved before playing a gwent match to get my final card. Won, got the last card, but no achievement.
Potential Fix: I did this on my Series X. Xbox Settings, Devices, Blu-ray, Persistent Storage, Clear Persistent Storage. Quit Witcher 3, loaded previous save, played match to get card again. Achievement Unlocked!
Good Luck!
(I was highly skeptical, but tried anyway, and was amazed that this worked. This also worked for Full Crew.)
