How to unlock the The Doppler Effect achievement in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition - Definitive Guide

Pick up the Contract: Imp off the notice board in Hierarch Square in Novigrad. This will lead to the An Elusive Thief quest.

According to some posts on the internet this achievement may not pop. I thought that was the case for me, but...

I let him live as well and was able to get the achievement. Story wise, the merchant wasn't happy and paid half the reward.

I let him live and did not get the achievement. Went back to an earlier save and killed him and it popped.

When you say "later I went back" do you mean you reloaded or you found him again and killed him? Because I let him live and no cheevo and dont have a save prior to ending the quest.

This is glitched for me and not popping. Reloading and trying the other option didn't work for me.

update: Did get it to pop...Anyone having the same issue, try doing a restart on your xbox first then reload a previous save to refinish the contract

Not sure it's connected to letting him live or not....I let him live and it popped first time (Merchant not happy and only half reward)

Still buggy. I spared the mark, finished the quest and nothing. I reloaded the autosave from right after sparing him, talked to the merchant again and it popped immediately.
