How to unlock the Can Quit Anytime I Want achievement in THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT - Definitive Guide

Step 1:
Make a save! If you have Potion of Clearance skip step 2.

Step 2:
Buy a Potion of Clearance
Novigrad - Merchant NorthEast of Hierarch Square in the building on the West
Skellige - Gedyneith where you do the Practicum in Advanced Alchemy

Step 3
Use the Potion of Clearance and respend your Points in Alchemy, Focus on
Heightened Tolerance | Aquired Tolerance | Side Effects

Step 4
Forget about the Decoctions because they bring far to much Toxicity (80).
Chuck your Potions that give 15 Toxicity:
Black Blood | Cat | Killer Whale | Pheromones

With a bit of Luck you already get your Achievement through the passive Effect of the Skill "Side Effects".

If not, we have to advance to the Potions that give 20 Toxicity like:
Swallow | Tawny Owl | Maribor Forest

The Math
Black Blood + Cat + Killer Whale + any Pheromones = 60 Tox
Swallow + Tawny Owl + Maribor Forest = 60 Tox

So in the worst case where "Side Effects" does not proc once, you need a Tolerance of 120 Toxicity.

Bonus:
If you have the Pops Mold Antidote - this will also work and only adds 15 Tox (you get this during a Quest)

After all this you can just reload your save with your new Achievement! ;)

I put myself under eight potions and no achievement. I'm guessing you have to have the DLC installed. Odd, since the Gwent achievement does unlock without it.

I bought the DLC. I went back and tried this again and it worked before leaving the inventory screen. So you obviously have to have the DLC for this one. But not for the Gwent one.

I have been searching online and it doesnt seem like there is a formula to find for nekker or usrine pheromones, only drowner. If anyone knows differently, please tell us where you got it.

Also, pops mold gives 25 toxicity according to my game.

Same as Zordnil. There is no formula for the nekker or bear pheromones...

You don't need the side effects skill in order to get this.

@Captn Chao4s: Yeah obviously. Thats why I tell you to swallow the 7 potions with the lowest Toxicity. But for those who have to respec anyway it´s easier and faster with Side Effects ~~

@PaulDoyle: Ok, did not have any Problems unlocking this. Is it maybe on 100% or "unlocking" in your achievement app? Sometimes it takes a horrible amount of time for achievements to unlock.

For anybody having trouble, make sure they're 7 different potions, popped immediately. (and not like 4 thunderbolt, 3 black blood like I originally thought).

I drank 10. No achievement. This sucks...

EDIT: Okay, I drank seven DIFFERENT ones and got the achievement (before it was three or four different ones multiple times). You should probably put that they have to be different.

This should specify 7 DIFFERENT, not just 7 gulps.

I drank 10 different potions. I have Aquired Tolerance maxed with 240 tolerance.
I have bot HoS and BaW installed.
Still no achievement.

This is actually much easier than this and only need 1 Skill point in Metabolism Control which increases maximum Toxicity by 30 (130) so either you have it already or you need simply 1 spare point and you simply save before doing.

Then you take this above listed Potions:
Black Blood(15) + Cat(15) + Killer Whale(15) + any Pheromones(15) = 60 Tox
Swallow(20) + Tawny Owl(20) + Maribor Forest(20) = 60 Tox

Also interesting after i took all of them i ended at 112 Tox not at 120 for some reason,
but this doesn't matter. And the Pops Mold Antidote was 29 Tox for me not 15 Tox.

Another Alternative (needs Blood & Wine DLC) but even with no available Skillpoints at all is to get and craft all the Manticore Armor Pieces (Chest +10 Tox, Pants +10 Tox, Gloves +5 Tox, Boots +5 Tox) = +30 Tox like the Metabolism Control but without Skillpoints needed.

Chances are you have already finished the game prior to starting this DLC. You will have quite a lot of potions or decoctions in your inventory. Raise your toxicity cap by applying mutagens (you can respec any time) and apply 7 potions which have toxicity 20 or less. Popped for my right after I applied the 7th potion in the inventory screen.

I don't understand why it's a DLC only achievement when it can clearly be done in the base game. I tried 3 times drinking 7 different potions between 15-20 tox and with the added 30 toxicity resistance, no achievement. I'll try tomorrow by respec my ability points but

Hirogen D: From what I can understand, the "Killed It" achievement is from a Title Update and not the DLC. So it really looks like we need the DLC sadly

If you are an alchemy build (http://www.gosunoob.com/witcher-3/skill-calculator/?alchemy=...) you should already have the required talents. (Heightened Tolerance, Acquired Tolerance and Side Effects) If this is the case, skip to step 3. PLEASE ENSURE YOU SAVE BEFORE DOING THIS!

Step 1:
Buy a Potion of Clearance.
Novigrad - Merchant north east of Hierarch Square in the building on the west. Here
External image

Skellige - Gedyneith where you do the Practicum in Advanced Alchemy. (Here is a link to help you do the quest if you have not http://www.gosunoob.com/witcher-3/practicum-in-advanced-alch...)

Step 2:
Use the Potion of Clearance and gain the talents Heightened Tolerance, Acquired Tolerance and Side Effects.

Step 3:
Use Black Blood, Cat, Killer Whale and any Pheromones (Drowner, Nekker, Usine). If you for some reason do not get any extra potion effects, use any of the other potions you have that have 20 toxicity. (Swallow, Tawny Owl or Maribor Forest)

After doing these steps your achievement will unlock. If you prefer a video, here ya go:
If you guys have any suggestions let me know. Good luck!

You will need the skill "Acquired Tolerance" under the Alchemy tree maxed out for this. You will also want to have these 7 potions, which all should be at the superior level:

  • Black Blood
  • Blizzard
  • Cat
  • Full Moon
  • Golden Oriole
  • Petri's Philter
  • Tawny Owl

With these maxed out in the superior level and having "Acquired Tolerance" at max level, you will be able to drink all seven of these potions to unlock the trophy.

First thing’s first, you will definitely need to grab all three ranks of Mutation’s “Acquired Tolerance” perk in the Alchemy skill tree and apply it to an empty slot in your active skill set. If you don’t have any skill points available to do this, you’ll have to purchase and consume a Potion of Clearance. This perk, as the description states, will increase your maximum Toxicity by 1 point for every known alchemy formula. By the time you’re playing this expansion, you’ll most likely have learned all the Superior variants for every bomb, oil, potion, as well as uncovered most if not all of the basic alchemy ingredients in the game. If that holds true, and it’s entirely necessary you do to an extent, your Toxicity will now be capped at or around 230 (or higher) rather than 100.

Now to get this achievement, simply open your Inventory menu and consume seven different potions, all one right after another. Since each potion only has a Toxicity level of either 20 or 25, and sometimes 15, you won’t have to worry about exceeding the safe threshold after drinking all of them. For reference, these are the potions I used for this achievement:

  • Superior Golden Oriole – 20 Toxicity
  • Superior Tawny Owl – 20 Toxicitiy
  • Superior Black Blood – 20 Toxicity
  • Superior Blizzard – 25 Toxicity
  • Superior Cat – 15 Toxicity
  • Superior Petri’s Philter – 25 Toxicity
  • Superior Full Moon – 25 Toxicity

As you can see, drinking these seven potions will meet the requirements for the achievement, while only raising your Toxicity by 150 points, which is still within the safe threshold. Make no mistake though…you will absolutely need to acquire all three ranks of “Acquired Tolerance” and already know several of the Superior variants to bombs, oils, and potions in order to increase the cap of your maximum Toxicity a significant amount when going for this achievement.

A fairly simple trophy, you will need 2 fully upgraded skills in the alchemy branch: Increased Resistance and Acquired Fortitude, as well as at least 7 suitable potions.

Once you have leveled up these skills, drink all 7 potions and get a trophy. It is advisable to select potions with low toxicity (15-20) and a duration of at least 10 seconds. I myself used Orca, Black Blood, Cat, Drowned Pheromone Potion, Blizzard, Maribor Forest and Tawny Owl.

PS
Alternatively, you can save in a separate slot, reset your skills with the purification elixir, upgrade the necessary skills, get a trophy and load the save back.

Potions can be activated directly in the backpack by pressing without leaving the backpack menu

Different elixirs have different durations of action. Therefore, first we use elixirs that have a long action time. After this, we wait until the intoxication subsides and use another one. My video for clarity (it’s a bit boring + I was a little stupid, but the result was obtained ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyILmqNlD4k

Also, in the character’s skills, in the “Skills” branch, there is a skill - Metabolism Control (increases the maximum level of intoxication by 30 units).

The “delayed potion making” skill helped me a lot; the effects of potions do not disappear until the intoxication level drops to 70%

Guys, after patch 1.20 you can drink potions directly from your backpack, I just haven’t seen it before. Square button. There is an option to drink 7 potions at once in the backpack; they gave me the trophy right in the menu.

It is not necessary to download the alchemy branch, just buy one skill from the golden branch for +20 to the poisoning threshold and voila. Naturally, we drink potions with the least intoxication

I made a save and bought a purification potion on Skelege, from the druids under the oak tree. I pumped up these two skills and the skill to increase the level of intoxication, drank Cat, Black Blood, a potion of pheromones, Maribor Forest, Tawny Owl, Thunder and Swallow, reaching in my pocket. Then I loaded the save and went to Toussaint))

I received the trophy without a leveled up alchemy branch and without a purification potion when completing the quest “Treasures of Count Reuven”.
Used: wolf's hour (elixir without intoxication, was in the backpack from the beginning of the game), pop mold antidote (given by Sigi Reuven, lasts 360 seconds, so you can drink it in advance), improved cat (120 seconds), improved swallow, Maribor forest, tawny owl, oriole. After using the longest elixirs, you can wait until the intoxication decreases and calmly drink more elixirs
