How to unlock the Munchkin achievement in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Definitive Guide

Most people will probably get this naturally if they're doing Contracts at an appropriate level. Optimally, I recommend making sure you do your Contracts while they are within 6 levels of you (if you're 6 levels above it, and the quest is gray in your quest log, you'll get no XP from it).

If you save all your contracts and are playing on Death March! (which gives less XP), you might encounter a situation where you haven't attained level 35 after finishing the main quests. In this case, the best thing to do is to farm a specific Cyclops. He is on the far east side of Ard Skellig, next to a place of power and the mastercrafted griffon gear.

He gives 51xp per kill on Death March (some report only 33) and 81xp per kill on Easy (according to comments), and you can make him respawn by meditating for an hour. If you're just short (as I was), this can get you there. It only took me about 20 minutes to finish up. It would have taken far longer to pick around trying to do side quests for minimal or no gain (and I'm not sure it would have been possible with them).

Here's a video. It's not mine, but it's where I learned this.

Nah you'll make it easily if you're doing all the Witcher contracts at the right level. Barely, but easily.

Currently doing the respawning cyclops to get from 34-35 after finishing the game. Thanks, works a charm =). Also, a helpful tip, you don't have to move away from the area to meditate. Just kill him, then as soon as Geralt sheathes his sword you can meditate and he will spawn in front of you. Just be careful not to get knocked off the edge when charges.

Thanks for posting this, had done basically everything and was still 701 exp from level 35. Got to 35 in about 10 minutes thanks to this.

Tried this and the Cyclops only gives me 33xp per kill (better than nothing but I think they scaled down the XP ... I´m on Death March and lvl 24 btw).

Yup, maybe they nerfed the XP reward in an update? But only getting 30 odd XP per kill.

Yeah, on 26 its only 31xp but I have some bonus xp gear equipped so yeah, XP should be around 30. The "Path of the Warrior" trick doesn´t work for me either.

I got bumped from level 27 to level 30 during the Wild Hunt's assault on Kaer Morhen. Is that normal?

Didn't have to do any farming and nearly 200xp off lv37 without having touched HOS or ng+. I'm surprised a good number of players were struggling to reach 35. Maybe if you hold off from doing the vast majority of side quests before being 6 levels higher than the recommended, that could be the case.

Death march gives lower XP? That seems kinda backwards now doesn't it? Makes some sense though, I'm about to sail to the isle of mists and have done every wit her contact except one and every other side quest and I'm only level 25.... Might have to do another play through on easy.....

Try to always do quests and contracts before they turn grey, they turs gray as soon as they are 6 levels below your level. If you do this you should end up around the 35 area.

After you have finished the game you can then kill this one cyclops to for quick exp. See video får further details.

In order to reach character development level 35, you will need to amass a total of 54,000XP. Geralt will earn experience by slaying opponents, completing quests, accomplishing special tasks during quests, or by making certain conversational choices. Additionally, visiting Points on Interests (indicated by a question mark on the world map) and resolving the tasks that await there earn some experience. If you want to level up quickly during your playthrough, then be ready to jump at every chance you can take, regardless of the task's level of importance.

In regards to combat XP, experience gained from fighting changes depending on the level of the enemy relative to Geralt's. If the opponent's level is white, you gain reduced XP. If their level is green (meaning they're close to your level), you gain a standard amount of XP. If you're facing a red-leveled or "skull-leveled" opponent, chances are you might die, but defeating them yields increased amounts of XP.

Take into account that from levels 1-10, it takes 1000XP to level up each time; from levels 11-20, it takes 1500XP; and from levels 21-70, the highest level in the game, it takes 2000XP. The difficulty you are playing on will not effect the amount of XP you gain, so just complete any and all tasks that come your way and this achievement should be yours at the very end of your playthrough.

NOTE: After completing nearly all of the content in your playthrough, you may still need to gain one or two levels to reach Level 35. If this is the case for you, you can farm XP from a Level 30 Cyclops on the east coast of Ard Skellig (near the Place of Power and Mastercrafted Griffin Gear Diagrams). The Cyclops nets 51XP per kill and will constantly respawn after meditating for two hours.

Level 35 will require 54,000XP in total. You gain experience from quests, special conversation choices, and defeating enemies. You gain little experience by defeating enemies or by conversation choices in comparison by quests, so your best bet is doing quests.

If you go for all of the other trophies, complete all 26 witcher contracts and participate in side quests and map exploration, you should reach level 35 by the time you finish the final story mission. The last story missions also give a lot of XP and you will be able to get several level-ups within just a few hours (1000XP+ per mission). Liberating abandoned sites in the open world also grants decent XP bonuses. Just do everything available to you and you will get to level 35 naturally.

Real experience points. Available in the additional task "Path of Heroes". If you have not yet completed this quest, then you are incredibly lucky. The level rises in 4-5 minutes. Video guide .
This quest will become available after completing the quest "Tower from Nowhere".

on Skellige there is a place of power, guarded by a cyclops, for killing him they give 72 units of experience, to spam a new one you just need to meditate for 1 hour right at the scene of the murder, on the easiest difficulty he dies with 4-5 hits, 1 level can be pumped up in 10-15 minutes.

I’ll suggest a method without any torment, it’s suitable for those who have started playing and those who are not in a big hurry to go through the plot, we download Herald to level 28-29 (orders for monsters and additional tasks) and all this ideally before the first battle of the Wild Hunt (before finding Ciri) then We start adding experience to the plot, we will get a lot of experience and immediately become level 31-33, this is on average. Then you can follow the plot tasks and you will be 35th.

In version 1.22, a bug was fixed in the Path of Heroes task, so you can no longer swing for free.

As they said above, when you complete most of the quests, your level will be the same. I would like to add this on my own: don’t delay completing the task. if your level is higher than required: the task may become gray (your level is significantly higher than required), then upon completion you will receive crumbs of experience and crowns (experience 5, crowns 20-100). This clarification does not affect witcher orders, the reward for which was agreed upon in advance.

End of the game. Made it to level 35 on "To Death!" difficulty. 8 failed and 7 uncompleted tasks - including the main and additional ones. Don't worry about it, as stated above.

I don’t know how it is with everyone, playing on death difficulty and completing absolutely all the quests in the game I didn’t even reach lvl 29. Finished the game with 28 and a half, failed only 2 quests, one with guillemot, Metz killed her, but as I know from experience, they don’t give you a call for battle and some kind of quest for thugs. So I don’t know how anyone got 35+. I will say that the experience goes well only with the additions of stone hearts and blood and wine, after going through everything I gained lvl 57. So it's better to gain experience on DLS

If you are going to complete all the witcher’s orders and all the additional tasks, then you don’t even need to bother, you can return to other methods of increasing experience at any time.

The quest "The Hero's Path" has fixed the experience of not being boosted.
Upgrading for crowns from a banker in Novigrad has also been fixed and does not give experience for repaying a loan.
The only way is a cyclops, but at lvl 33 I was given 30 units of experience per kill. It's long and tedious to beat the Cyclops.

If you did not start going through the DLC again, but continued to go through the game after the main part, then when you reach level 35 in the DLC, the trophy will drop

September 2k18 patch 1.60 Cyclops at lvl 30 is killed perfectly, if you beat it with a trophy for experience, then on average 60 experience drips

Explored all locations with ???? signs (well, and cleared it, of course), completed all the quests, failed at the beginning only 2 quests of lvl 9 and the quest with the griffin gear glitched. Those. Having not yet completed the main story campaign, I pumped up lvl 35.

Achievement is not that easy. It's about the experience system. First, you get very little experience from monsters. Secondly, as soon as your level becomes 6 or more levels higher than the recommended level for the quest, you will receive only symbolic 5 exp for completing this quest.

What to do? Here's what: try to complete only those quests whose level you have already outgrown. Try to follow them in such a way as not to complete quests that are still higher than you, albeit by a couple of levels. After all, then you will “overtake” those quests that have already outgrown and will not receive experience for them. Example:

Let's say you are level 10 Geralt. You have 5 quests in your journal - with recommended levels 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13. If you begin to complete quests with a higher level, then by receiving exp for them you will increase your level and the 5th level quest will become gray for you "(they will give you 5 exp for it). And if you complete lower-level quests first, then the exp for them will be given in full, because... at that time you will not yet outgrow them by 6 levels.

By playing with this tactic, you will be able to reach the required level 35 by the end of the game.
