How to unlock the Power Overwhelming achievement in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Definitive Guide

There are six Place of Power in the first "Map": White Orchard. You need to draw power from the five that I marked in red. Every buff holds for 30min, so you need to visit them all in that timeframe. The yellow on is a duplicate but visited it too, you get an Ability Point from every Place of Power.

The one marked in yellow gives the same bonus as the one on the bottom left. You need to activate either.

You can clear all enemies from the sites first. This will make it easy to revisit them once you found and cleared them all.

question - if you've already used the place of power to get an ability point, can you still re-activate it for the purposes of getting the bonus only? or does stacking the bonuses only count when you active a PoP for the first time.

Doesn't work for me in GOTY edition. Tried hard rebooting my Xbox, did it again, still nothing, even though it worked just fine in the normal edition. Not the guide's fault, just saying, not sure what to do :(

I got the GoTY edition and it works. At first it didn't but then i realized i had the brown mutagen 'gorged on power' equipped in the character section which allow only 1 sign at a time. I removed that and to be sure before drawing the power, i equipped the right sign at each place of power and once i visited all 5 places, the achievement popped. Not sure if having the sign equipped is required. Hope it helps.

My achievement didn't pop either. Those playing in the GOTY edition - I was able to meditate so that all bonuses were lost and then reaquire ONLY the five different powers. No duplicates. The achievement popped immediately after.

Scratch that. I might be the dumbest person ever. I never realized that you need to hold down the button the entire time and it would give you a skill point. I’d hold the button long enough for Geralt to do the prompt and would then let go. Tried it again and it worked toast

Actually if you get the general skill which allows you to keep the shrine bonus indefinitely this makes this achievement super easy.

Wasn't unlocking so I just made a new game save file and that worked. You're in white orchard within 10 minutes anyway off a new file so I'd give that a try if it's bugging out on you.

There are 5 Place of Power statues in White Orchard. You need to activate them all within 30 minutes. Each of these gives you a bonus ability point and a boost to a Sign. They also have enemies guarding all 5 locations. The video shows you the locations and me going to all 5 in order.

This is a pretty simple achievement that can be obtained fairly early on in the game. In order to unlock, you need to have all five power bonuses active at the same time. To get the bonus, you must travel to a place of power and draw from it, each place of power gives a bonus to a specific sign.

There are six of these places in the first main area of the game, White Orchard, covering all five signs with two places of power for the Quen Sign. If you want to find where each place of power is, it is outlined in this video. Hope this helps!

Best place to do this is the starting area, White Orchard. There are places of power for all signs relatively close together, and if you come back to this area at a higher level, you'll be easily able to mow down any enemies that you come across.

This one can already achieved right in White Orchard.

Start in the southeast, right of the Abandoned Village marker. Head over to the left of the same marker for the second one. Either teleport or ride to the Sawmill marker, you'll find #3 a bit north of it. Cross the river via the bridge, pass the Mill marker and the two ones found north of it are the remaining #4 and #5. If you've cleaned the area already, you should have plenty of time left, before the first one runs out.

Just note, that for being able to get this achievement, you have to make sure, that the General perk "Gorged on Power" is deactivated, meaning not put into a perk slot. This one will make a bonus to last forever, but there can only ever be one active at a time, which is exactly not what we need for this...

This is best done in White Orchard (starting area). Places of Power are ritual stones hidden in the woods of this map. They can also be found in Velen, Novigrad, Skellige and Kaer Morhen. Interact with the quest board in White Orchard to reveal their locations as question marks on the map.

Activating the places of power will earn you a skill point, and give you a significant boost for one of your signs. You have 5 signs, so you will need to activate the 5 corresponding stones. One for each sign. The catch is that the effect only stays active for 30 minutes. That means you have to activate all stones in quick succession. Luckily, there's more than enough time that you can make use of fast travel if you wish.

In the Northern Realms, Places of Power are stone monuments marked with one of the Signs used by Geralt. Drawing magic from these stones offers an intensity boost to the Sign marked on the monument for 30 minutes. What's more, each Place of Power also grands an additional skill point. Like all undiscovered areas in the world, you'll have to uncover the question marks on the world map to find these stone monuments.

There are fifteen main Places of Power in the game (plus a few extras that are found through main quests) and they are spread out evenly (5 per region) across White Orchard, Velen/Novigrad, and the Skellige Isles. For this achievement, you only have to activate all 5 stones in one region (i.e. one stone per Sign), so it's best to get this done during the Prologue in White Orchard. Be sure to check out the video below for the location of all five Places of Power in White Orchard.

Places of Power are ritual stones hidden in the forests on the White Orchard map (White Garden, where the game begins). On the map they are indicated by a question mark until you approach them and open them. After activating the stones, you will be given experience points and an improvement bonus for one of the signs. There are 5 of them in total, so you need to activate 5 corresponding stones. One for each sign.

The effect lasts 30 minutes, so you need to activate them as quickly as possible, but don't worry about more than enough time.

Please note that you do not have the Power Drinking skill activated!
Identical Quen signs are marked in yellow on the map

There are six Altars of Power, and five necessary enhancements. One thing is repeated.

There are altars not only in the white garden, there are also in Velen and Skellige, if you wish, you can do the achievement there. But it’s easiest to do it in a white garden, since all the stones are quite close

On the “White Garden” map, you don’t have to run up to the right. The sign is duplicated.

Can be obtained randomly by completing tasks in the White Garden related to interesting places (question marks on the map). Due to the fact that the White Garden is tiny, all places of interest are extremely close to each other.

There are places of power of all kinds in the prologue and the map is small, so getting this achievement is a piece of cake.
