How to unlock the Bucket List achievement in theHunter: Call of the Wild - Definitive Guide

Updated 23/02/2020
Thank you to wolfsburgraz for helping to confirm that the newer, smaller animals are now included in the achievement.

For this achievement you will need to use your binoculars (or rangefinder) to spot each species of animal
You should have no issues finding them, just by walking / running around the first region of each reserve, and the adjoining regions

You are looking to spot:

Hirschfelden Reserve

Red Fox
Roe Deer
Fallow Deer
Wild Boar
Red Deer
European Bison
Canada Goose (Most often found in fields or flying overhead)

NOTE:If you are struggling to find Bison, head to South / West of the map, in Tichenau / Ernsdorf. You will often find a herd of Bison moving around this area, from the Gorge in the SouthWest of Tichenau, up to the bridge between Ernsdorf and Spreeberg

Layton Lake

Coyote
Whitetail Deer
Blacktail Deer
Black Bear
Roosevelt Elk
Moose
Mallard (Found on the lakes or flying over them, not too difficult to find)
Jackrabbit (These can be a little trickier to find, listen for rustling in long grass and around trees and shrubs, they're small but normally rather plentiful and they're everywhere)

Good luck

Well, the Roosevelt Elk is most certainly a trophy species as I've come to find - quite possibly the highest trophy rating in the game - so I'm not sure why it wasn't needed for me for this achievement. Oh well shock

That is indeed strange. The Elk can be very high scoring yes, I think the biggest I’ve ever scored was 930 or so, so close to diamond 😩

I am struggling to unlock this. Does this all have to be done in one play session? I'm certain I've spotted all of the Hirschfelden animals in my dozens of hours there, and just tonight I spotted each of the Layton ones and still no achievement.

Its possible the achievement could be a little buggy at the moment, it often happens with this game, my solution also only mentions the original species for each map, there have since been animals added to these maps (the rabbits on Layton for example) but I'm not sure if these count towards the achievement.

I'll have a play around on an alt account and see if I can get it to unlock when I get the chance, and update my solution accordingly if it's required.

Also, I don't believe it does need to be done in one session

Thanks for the quick reply and for being willing to test it, you don't have to go through the effort just yet. I've seen (and very often heard!) the rabbits but am not certain if I've spotted one with the binoculars before. I'll give it a try later and report back.

Ok. I shall hold off any testing until you've confirmed.
Don't forget to spot a Mallard on the lakes / in the sky too, just in case you've not done those yet either.

You're a star, it was the mallards all along! I didn't think to try and spot them, I figured they wouldn't count as I didn't buy the goose or duck DLC's. Achievement unlocked, thanks!

Glad I could help, I'll update the solution to show the newer animals, and give you credit for helping to establish that the newer animals are included.

Just unlocked this and I have never even seen a goose yet, so that can't be a requirement.

Same as above. Unlocked with the first bison I spotted. No goose needed in my case.

Is there a way to track this in game?

Either this unlocked early or the Roosevelt Elk is not actually a trophy species. I spotted a Moose last, having spotted every other animal except the Elk, and the achievement popped. The "Eavesdropping" achievement did not unlock upon identifying the call from the moose though, with just the Elk left, but that achievement does not specify "trophy". Just noting. Still, thanks for guide, +1, cheers toast
