How to unlock the Up Close And Personal achievement in theHunter: Call of the Wild - Definitive Guide
This will require a little bit of luck and little bit of patience. You could either stalk a target and get close to it that way, or the method I used was to lure the target to me. I did this on Hirschenfelden but any map will do. You want to find a need zone for something relatively easy to hunt, like Roe Deer or Whitetail/Blacktail. The easiest place to find need zones is around lakes as these can often have water/rest/food zones all close by. Bring along your preferred weapon, preferably something you are comfortable with. Bows are powerful and shotguns are also super viable for this. Also bring along some scents and a caller of the species you're hunting. Set up a hunting blind/tripod stand and then sit in it, using a scent masker and then the preferred scent and lure of the species you're hunting. With any luck, some targets will come along and given enough time, should come right up close to the hunting stand where you are located.
Few things to bear in mind, is that the hunting blinds make you almost invisible but it is still possible for them to notice you. Same with the scent eliminator.
You can purchase a range finder, although there is also a skill that allows you to estimate distance between you and the target. As soon as the target is close enough, put a round through a vital organ and aim for a quick kill. This is why a bow or shotgun is often best as they cause lots of damage and can hit multiple organs because of how they work.
Targets can come right up next to your blind if you're lucky. Try not to move at all, as even the slightest movement can trigger an alert reaction from deer and cause them to be cautious.
I did have a few kills where I was sure the distance was less than 15 meters, and the creature wasn't alert, so I'm not sure if it's a little buggy or if the creature has a weird criteria for being "Unaware". Keep trying using lures though and you'll get it with a little luck and patience

Thanks for the specific information. I will try what you suggest with the blinds, scents, and need zones information. I will have to admit I have been getting a little frustrated with hunting until now. Thanks, BruceBCampbell

If you just started this game, you can easily obtain the achievement during the "Hunter and Hunter" side mission.
I just did this achievement and the one for downing an animal with my last bullet (Make it Count). Seems like the easiest place to obtain both as the "possessed deer" don't really pay attention to you....
For the "Make it Count" achievement, shoot one of the possessed deer in the body with your first shot and then shoot them in the head with the second shot.
