On the last level of the campaign mode, there are more Giants than you can shake a stick at.Building a strong defence, then baiting with a Ranger worked well for me, I got the 2 and 3 giant achievements very quickly doing this.

Mid campiagn there is a level called wasteland of the gaints. have to kill like 10 on the map and 5 or so during the last horde.

I just want to point out, that it is possible to optain all 3 Giant Slayer Achievements in one go:
Play on the highest population setting and 3 Giants will be on the Map. Also note the Giants are marked on the Mini-Map.
When you kill all of them, you earn Giant Slayer 1,2 and 3.
For new players it would be better to explore the game and increase the difficulty little by little.
One Giant will be on the Map on Challenging population. More on the higher difficulties.
Please note that Giants do not appear on Waves! No matter the difficulty, in a normal Survival Game you face the Giants on the Map and thats it. No nasty surprises in the Final Wave.
As for fighting the Giants:
They are very strong. They have 10 000 HP and high Armor. They move suprisingly fast for their size and have a strong AOE short range attack which can kill most of your units with one swing. And since its AOE, you can lose several units at once. Never engage a Giant without preparation.
You have some options for beating a Giant:
Overpower it with something like +100 Snipers. With someting like +200 Snipers you will most likely not even lose a single unit because the Giant is killed before its first attack.
Kite it with weak and cheap Units. Rangers can distract it. Place them in Front of your army with some distance between them and move them around.
Tanking it with a Titan is also relatively easy and safe. Put the Titan in front of your units and let it take the damage. (Just make sure to watch the health bar of your Titan as losing one is expensive)
Be cheesy and build walls next to it! Lure it with a Ranger to the Walls and your units behind it can kill it easily.
