How to unlock the Clear Headed achievement in Thief - Definitive Guide

Like "A Moral Victory" (Finish the game with no kills or knockouts), this achievement will come naturally if you use the recommended settings for:
THIEFSomething to ProveThe Something to Prove achievement in THIEF worth 613 pointsFinish the game with a custom difficulty of 700 points or more

Or if you just turn on "No Focus" in the custom difficulty screen when you're starting a new game. This setting literally disables focus so that it cannot be used, so you'll get this achievement if you can just finish the game with this setting on.

If you are playing without this setting enabled and accidentally use focus, you should be able to reload your checkpoint as long as it's before your focus use. That's according to reports, I cannot personally verify that.

This only says 'finish the last chapter'. Can I not replay the chapter and refrain from using focus even if I have used focus throughout the whole game?

It's not "finish the last chapter," it's "reach the final chapter." You have to play through the entire game without using focus until Chapter 8 starts. This achievement will unlock when Chapter 8 begins.

I haven't heard of any issues, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. If you plan on getting the full 1000, though, you don't need to worry. On your Master 700+ run, you will be forced to get this achievement, assuming you use the "No Focus" setting to help you get to 700 points.

Followed the guide precisely, had all the same settings, couldn't use focus if I wanted to because it didn't exist during my playthrough.

Didn't unlock for me, for some reason. I'll replay chapter 7 just in case.

Edit: Rrplaying chapter 7 did nothing. Second playthrough on Rogue, with Focus disabled again, popped it immediately upon entering chapter 8.

The easiest way to get this is to simply go into your options menu and turn the focus mode to off. The option for this is under the game section.

When starting a new game either unbind your focus key or disable using focus in the custom dificulty selection so you don't use it by mistake. Achievement pops up when you start chapter 8.

Focus ability (activated via ), grants you the ability to survey your surroundings for thieving opportunities. While in focus and briefly after deactivating focus, objects that you can interact will glow in blue, such as rope arrow-able beams and loot you can pilfer, and so forth. Therefore, focus mode serves as a fundamental ability in progressing through this game as it shows you possible routes that you can take when completing a level.

However, for the purpose of this trophy, you will not be able to use the focus ability at all until the final chapter to unlock it. That said, it is recommended you do this on your Master Custom second playthrough of the game, as one of the handicaps we suggest is having the "No focus" into play. This will also remove the possibility of you activating focus by accident, forcing you to replay the game once again for the trophy.

It's simple, go to the menu and turn off concentration in the settings and complete the game. I advise you not to be distracted by additional tasks, but to go through only the main story.

On special difficulty, choose “No concentration” or disable it in the game settings
