How to unlock the Buried Treasure achievement in Thimbleweed Park - Definitive Guide
Pick up the Bear Repellent from the Quickie Pal (thx R4bid). Pick up the navigator's shrunken head in the occult store and take it to the trailhead. When you enter the forest, the head will start spinning and point the direction to the correct paths. Be slow and meticulous...when the head points up, it's not always obvious which trail up is the correct one. After several screens, you will have found the treasure.
It's only slight but, if you move in front of each possible "up" path, you should see the difference, which allows you to select the correct path.
This can only be unlocked on Hard.
In Occult Books on A Street, you will find a cursed head on some shelves near the register. Pick it up and travel to the trailhead. Once on the trailhead, look at the cursed head and you'll learn that it's a navigator. Enter the woods to the right.
You should notice that the head in your inventory is turning towards certain paths (this is random). Follow the head's directions and you'll eventually end up at a monument to fallen adventure gamers and a bulletin board about buried treasure. Read the plaque on the monument to unlock the trophy. Exiting to the left will take you back to the forest entrance; you don't need to worry about navigating back out.
MISSABLE – Chapter 3
MUST BE DONE ON HARD MODE
In the Occult store you will find a shrunken head. Pick it up with any character and head to the forest trails. The head will begin spinning and point in the direction of the path you need to take. Be careful as the head can sometimes point in the correct direction at the last second so take your time.
If done correctly you will eventually end up at a new location with an ‘X’ on the ground.
The pedestal with the “treasure” is located in the forest. You need to look for it with the help of a “damned head”, which indicates the direction.
