How to unlock the We made a stand achievement in This War of Mine: The Little Ones - Definitive Guide

Edit: Per comments below. It would seem that the Outbreak of crime period does not occur if you play a custom game with low intensity. If you are looking to make the Outbreak of crime period happen in a custom game, choose moderate intensity of higher.

This achievement is unlocked for getting through the "Outbreak of crime period" without being robbed while being raided. This period happens randomly in the game so you cant really dictate when its going to come about, you can only prepare for it and deal with it when it happens.

Note: Getting raided and having things stolen before the outbreak of crime period will not affect this achievement.

A few pointers to consider with this achievement:

When you upgrade your workshop to level 2, there is a board up construction option than can be constructed up to three times. This construction option helps with reducing the frequency of when you are raided. I would suggest getting this early on as it helps when outside the outbreak of crime period.

Have 2 people on guard at night, also a must for the outbreak of crime period. This will leave you with a greater chance of not being robbed when raided. Having 2 people on guard duty will also unlock the following achievement:

Having weapons and armor in your stockpile affect how well your guarding / in base characters defend themselves when being raided. This relates to whether you are robbed when raided as well as characters being injured or not from the raid. Shovels and crowbars count as weapons and are a great option for early game base defense.

In short, you know this period is going to happen at some stage during the game. So you must be prepared for when it hits.

Cheers.

Can you get this in write your own story? What should I have my combat set to. I've gone all 20 days without having anything stolen so I think I'm doing something wrong

Yeah you can. I created my own story of 40 days of moderate intensity (unsure if low intensity makes this event not happen) and also a short and non brutal winter event occurring mid game. The outbreak of crime event for me happened at day 13. But yeah ... not sure if its a random event OR you need to have at least moderate intensity and winter?

I've done two 'own story' playthroughs. Both had mild and short winters at the end with low intensity setting. 20 days and 40 days and neither had this event happen. At this point I would say the low intensity will prevent this event from happening.

Did another 'own story' with moderate intensity, 40 days, and had the event happen on the 26th day and lifted on the 31st day.

Any idea if the game length and winter options have any effect? I'm on day 22 and haven't had anything on my 80 day game with no winter and mid intensity.

I got to day 28/40 in "Write you're own story" Mid Intensity 0 Winter and got Outbreak of Crime.

Sadly 3 were Lethally injured and 1 was depressed. Needless to say I didnt survive lol.

Great solution though!

I got this in the default game when you first start playing. The weird thing is I had some items stolen from me during two raids yet I still got the achievement when the outbreak ended. None of my survivors got injured or killed but I did lose some cans of food and cigarettes.

Custom story, 30 Days, no Winter, Moderate Intensity.
I followed a 3 person tip from Reddit where you use Roman, Marko and Boris. Worked a charm but incredibly risky since Roman is possibly the biggest liability with his moods and attacking your housemates.
Got it to pop as he got depressed status.

I did this in story mode, had things stolen, and chievo still popped. None of my starting people got hurt or killed though. Just survive through the event (took like 7 days for me I think, and chievo should pop

Same as above, had not a single successful defense (hooray timing on trying to get someone sick and another depressed) but everyone lived through it and I got the pop.

Glitch Warning!

I've just had the achievement not unlock, from what I've seen online, none of your survivors can die or disappear before the crime wave. You have to survive the crimewave with your original characters.

Watch out for random disappearances, I had Marin just vanish one night, not even a screen explaining why or stat low enough for a problem.

At some point in the game, you will get a message about the outbreak of violence in the city. It's completely random as to when this will happen, though. You will know you are in the outbreak of violence when the photo marking the start of a new day changes from the regular ruined city to a man holding a gun. The radio reports will not be of much help in anticipating this, though, as there are frequent reports of increases in crime throughout the game.

To unlock this achievement, you will need to make it through the outbreak of violence without having anyone die in a raid, and without losing any supplies to theft. You will lose bullets in the defense of the house, but that's fine. To give yourself the best shot at surviving this make sure you have all the holes in your walls repaired at the Level 2 workshop, build an improvised alarm system at a Level 3 workshop, ensure that every person who stays home has a weapon and that there is at least one person on guard every night. When you have the alarm, the description of your house will say that you can repulse most attacks even if you are all caught sleeping. This is not true during the outbreak of violence. Have someone on guard every night or you risk losing supplies in the raids that will occur every night.

The first raid happens BEFORE the image changes, so it is wise to have someone on guard every night regardless of whether or not you are in the outbreak. If you need to mop up this achievement, start a game with a 20 day duration, set winter to mild and early (to prevent the outbreak of violence from happening early in the game) and focus on protecting your house. Fix the holes in the walls, build the alarm, and make sure that you have weapons for everyone as well as enough bullets to keep your guns useful. The achievement will unlock when the outbreak ends.
