I found a glitch on how to multiply your Memory Shards by 5 really easily!
What you're going to need is to have the three slots unlock in your potion (any of the three, I went with General Potion) so you can put in
1 Rosemary
1 Mint
1 Thyme
and this will give you the Focus perk recipe which increases Memory Shards drop amount by 10% but my method will give you up to 500% on a specific enemy!
Now head to the Map and you'll need to go to the fourth level of Royal Garden called Underground Laboratory - Sub Quest 1 and make your way all the way to the end where you will be required to kill a general (big tanky fire guy). Before you apply the last hit, make sure that you drink the potion that we made earlier and instead of giving you 10% more Memory Shards, the game will multiply your TOTAL shards by 5. That means the bigger your stack is, the bigger the amount you'll receive is (I went from 1.8M to 8.6M in one kill)

What is the actual max level though? Or a better question, how many shards does it take to get up to max?

@Louix The max is 50 and after I think level 25 it stays at 10,490 shards per level so there's no point in overdoing it unless you just like carrying around millions of shards for the fun of it.
This exploit also works on smaller enemies to a degree so you can use those to build up before reaching the whip mob. Almost disappointing how easy this makes it but with the cap at 50 it's not a source of infinite levels and it beats farming the final boss for shards.

there is a great fast XP glitch option. 1. You need the XP update 25% for your potions after the new update rosemary, mint, thyme. 2. collects souls. from your inventory or through a pair of enemies. goes to a becon and saves. 3. Use the Bloodstained Dagger item. this one kills you. now you take a syringe with the 25% soul buff and pick up your lost souls. Then save.....REPEAT ez pz

Great find, still works as of 27.2.2023. Left you your first thumbs up. Should have used this much earlier to combat some of the silly difficulty spikes. Was already 70% done with the game before I discovered this. Then again with the alchemy requirements I guess I could not have accomplished it significantly sooner. At any rate, thanks for your help.

None of the described methods worked for me. I found another way to disperse the fragments of memories. We make the already described potion: rosemary - mint - thyme. Let's farm at least some amount of memory fragments. We jump to one of the levels. Let's go die next to the lighthouse. We run to pick up the fragments of memories left after our death. Just before picking up the fragments we drink the potion. You end up picking up more shards than you lost when you died. Repeat the required number of times.
