How to unlock the Double Trouble achievement in Ticket to Ride: Classic Edition - Definitive Guide
The description of this achievement should be clear enough. Yet it still is based on a lot of luck luck and the best you can do is to have your set-up has to be as promising as possible.
When you start the game, make sure to have at least 2 destination tickets which are connectable via double pieces of railway. I was lucky enough to start the game with Moskow - Mecca and Ankara - Colombo. Both were also worth a quite decent amount of points and they were overlapping, so the set-up was promising! :)
If your opponent is annoying and blocks one of the double pieces of railway you need for your connection, simply restart the game. If there are no other options to reach your destination, there is no point in to keep playing as you will most likely not score more points than your opponent(s).
After you completed your destination tickets and it is still free to claim, make sure to place your trains the grey 5-piece track connecting Samarkand and Dihua for a simple extra 10 points. After doing this you want the game to end as quickly as possible so you might have the luck of your opponent(s) not finishing a destination ticket and receiving a hefty deduction. To do this I suggest placing your trains on some double-track mountain tracks, as the crossed out pieces of track cost double the amount of trains while not costing double the amount of cards.
Also try to keep your railway network always connected to make sure you are receiving the 'Asian explorer' bonus in the end worth 10 points.
In my achievement-winning game my yellow railway network ended up with 98 points, which was only barely enough to outscore my opponent Marg Loughbot who scored 94 points and completed 2 out of the 3 routes:
