How to unlock the Economy Class achievement in Ticket to Ride: Classic Edition - Definitive Guide
For this achievement you will have to always maintain 10 or fewer cards in your hand over the course of the game, meaning you will need to be constantly playing trains down.
I recommend playing against only one opponent so you have fewer people to beat and fewer people taking train cards you may need. Although there is a fair amount of luck involved in your tickets vs. your opponents tickets, there are a couple things you can do to increase your chances of winning.
1. Have some tickets on the east coast. This allows you to play sets of 2 or 3 cards when you need to deplete your hand.
2. Try to get at least one, maybe two of the 6 train spots on the board. This requires some hand management to amass 6 of a color in a hand of 10, but it's doable. Don't be afraid to take Locomotives.
3. Be careful when you have an odd number of cards in your hand. If you have 9 cards and you opt to take train cards and do not take a Locomotive, you'll have to take 2 cards and lose this achievement.
4. When you see any colors you might need face up, take them. I usually choose facedown cards for the opportunity at a random Locomotive, but it's more important to match colors when you're constantly playing trains onto the board. You don't want 6 different colors in your hand from randomly drawing off the deck.

I don't know what I'm missing, or if this might be buggy, but I've met the requirements for this at least 3 times now. Twice in WIndows 10, and once on the Xbox One.

I'm pretty sure it can only be done on the original USA map. It didn't pop when I did it on 1910 Classic.
