How to unlock the In Diagonal we Trust achievement in Ticket to Ride: Classic Edition - Definitive Guide
The description of this achievement should be explanatory enough. All you have to do is connect either one of these routes:
- Cadiz to Petrograd
- Edinburgh to Erzurum
Make sure you are playing the Mega 1912 map, playing any other European map and meeting the requirements will not unlock this achievement!
I cannot give you an exact guide on what to do, just a few tips and experiences that I encountered.
When starting the game, look for destination tickets that match either the first or the second option. In my case I had the option to pick Cadiz - Stockholm, Madrid - London & Frankfurt - Smolensk, which made me attempt to connect Cadiz not just to Stockholm but to extend this railway through the 8-piece tunnel to Petrograd. After reaching Petrograd I could extend my network to go to Smolensk and complete this destination ticket as well.
Be aware that when you want to go from Erzurum to Edinburgh, there is only one railway (or two when you are playing with 3+ players in total) going from London to Edinburgh.
In my achievement-winning game connecting Cadiz to Petrograd, my yellow network of railways ended up with 140 points against Marg Loughbot's 138 points (hooray for the bonus for having the longest railway!):
I am not sure whether you can still receive this achievement when connecting through your opponent's route by placing a station. If someone could let me know in the comments, I can add it to this solution and give you credits!
* if for some reason the image is not present in this solution, just let me know, I can re-upload it!

Can't get the 1912 map to work. I can draw three tickets then that's it. It's like it won't let you go any futher on this board. Anyone else having this problem since the last update?

I am afraid i have already deleted the game (after completing it). Are you playing on Xbox or Win10? I've seen several messages that this makes a huge difference in some situations, if that might be of any help for you.
