How to unlock the Titanic achievement in Ticket to Ride: Classic Edition - Definitive Guide
The description of this achievement should be clear enough. You will have to finish a game while scoring more points than your opponent(s), while making sure that you will be the first to place your trains on the route connecting Southampton to New York.
This achievement is easily combined with anohter one in the UK DLC:
This is a traincard-consuming route, costing 3 locomotives and 7 traincards of any matching colour. However, you can always pick 4 random other traincards to replace a locomotive in case you do not have enough cards and are willing to place your trains on this route. The thing that makes this route worth the effort is that it is worth 40 points and does not require any technology cards to be built.
When starting my achievement-winning game, I chose to play against just one opponent being C. Huntington. This bot is known to usually go for the smaller pieces of railway. Given that the route you will be going for unlocking this achievement will cost you 10 trains, C. Huntingbot should be unlikely to be any threat for you.
When picking your destination tickets in the beginning of the game, pick any ones you like and that match your style of gameplay. After placing your trains on the hefty route needed for the achievement you will only have 35 - 10 = 25 trains complete your destination tickets.
If you are interested in the process I went through unlocking this achievement, feel free to have a look in the spoiler underneath:

To unlock this achievement without buying the propellers technology, you’ll need to have a lot of cards in your hand. Instead of using locomotives/ferries, just use any 4 random colour cards for each locomotive needed (they don’t have to be the same colour, but can be), then have the rest of the route be all one colour. Just to be clear, you can’t use locomotives at all.
So the route is 5 grey + 3 locomotives. You’ll need 5 cards of one colour and 12 cards of any colour. So stock up! And don’t forget to also win :)
