How to unlock the Like a Metronome achievement in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 - Definitive Guide
Game Modes > Tiger Legacy Challenge > Rookie Years > 1997 Phoenix Open
Now try and get "perfect" on your backswing and forward swing, if you don't get it pause the game and retry event untill you get both "perfect". Then continue the challenge and it will save. Now just rinse and repeat untill the achievement pops.
2 - Goto PGA Tour practice facility @ Augusta
3 - select from the tees
4 - use the 5 iron green (usually 1st one offered)
5 - Thru much practice I've found the best way to do this is to hold your finger and thumb about 5mms eitherside of the shot stick and flick down and then up - took about 10 mins aftering mastering this technique
It is BOTH backswing and forwardswing.
They both have to read perfect. There is an easyish way.
Settings > Game Settings > Difficulty Level: TOUR Pro
Game Modes > Tiger Legacy Challenge > TODDLER YEARS > 1982 First Hole in One (very bottom)
Now you'll usually get 1 of two caddy tips. Either 5 Iron, or 5 Wood. I found the 5 wood the best.
Swing Back, hold for 1/4 of a second and then go pretty fast forward. As you are a toddler then the swing style is a lot more forgiving as it is a lot harder to overswing.
The line of swing makes no difference, you want it to read perfect back, and perfect forward.
You get 5 attempts per load. so if you haven't had any perfect/perfects after 4, just restart event. If you get any, play to the end and bank them.
The achievement pops immediately you get your tenth.
It has to be done in one session. You can go play a match, but don't change the difficulty, or dashboard.
Point is; Adjust aiming with same club shorter until you see at a point your normal swingspeed will be a perfect shot.
Puttingstrokes dont count towards this ach.
I have shot over 15 ironshots, and 30+ perfect putts, but didnt get ach yet, so it might be glitchi
Make sure difficulty is on tour pro
1982 first hole in one tiger challenge
Choose his 5 wood. The backswing is a lot longer which gives you more time to judge where to start downswing. Do not worry about where the shot goes, passing the challenge is irrelevant. We just need 10 perfect swing tempo. And for some reason I got along better when I the caddy set me up with a 5 wood(only when wind was in my face). Now here is the important part. Press back on the stick and try to snap it forward when the meter is about 90% of the way to the full swing line. That way you will underswing just a little or get perfect backswing. If you over swing there is no chance at perfect tempo.
If you get perfect tempo on the first try keep going and finish the and hopefully you can get a couple more because there are 5 chances. If you don't hit retry event until you get a perfect tempo on the first try. Once the challenge is over it saves your progress no matter if you passed or failed. Took me 3 tries on the challenge to pop the achievement
I was moving my body with the beat to get the timing right. At the top of your swing, start your forward motion ever so slightly less than full speed, just like easing into the forward motion which should be less than full speed. The meter on the left shows forward swing speed on the top and backswing on the bottom. It will say fast or slow on top, and over or underswing on the bottom.
If you overswing you are pulling the backswing back too far. Too fast means you are starting your forward motion too abruptly and should be slightly less quick with a smoother transition from back to forward. Have fun with it. It took about 10 minutes for me.
I did not perform 10 perfects on tour pro. I mistakenly did about 11 on amateur, then changed to tour pro and did only 3 or 4 when the achievement popped.
By far the hardest achievement in my opinion in terms of difficulty due to the severe sensitivity of the swing meter in TOUR Pro difficulty. This will more than likely take 30 mins to an hour depending on how accurate you can swing. These do accumulate over time though and do not have to be back to back perfect. This was a bit of a pain but the achievement popped exactly on my 10th perfect attempt as I was keeping track on each success.
Note: This must be done from the tee box to register the swing to count toward the achievement.
If you have the Masters Edition of the game try this method:
Ensure you have the difficulty set to TOUR Pro before entering the practice range.
Main Menu -> Settings -> Difficulty = TOUR Pro
Once on the practice range aim at the far right green.
Press to switch from target to target until you are using the 6 or 8 iron.
Both meters top and bottom need to say perfect to count.
If you have the regular version you can go into Tiger Legacy and follow the recommendation:
Settings > Game Settings > Difficulty Level: TOUR Pro
Game Modes > Tiger Legacy Challenge > Rookie Years > 1997 Phoenix Open
Now try and get "perfect" on your backswing and forward swing if you don't get if pause the game and retry event until you get get both "perfect". Then continue the challenge and it will save. Now just rinse and repeat until the achievement pops.
This trophy has been causing a few issues for people. Although it says ‘Tempo’ swing in the description, it actually has to have both a perfect backswing and tempo. That means it has to read ‘Perfect’ on both the top and bottom of the indicator on the left. Also, it can indicate a Green swing (Green for good) while saying Fast on the Tempo section. So ignore the colour bar, and keep an eye on the words only.
You can go for this in any mode, once you are playing on Tour Pro difficulty. If you are lucky enough to have the Collector’s Edition, you will have access to the Practice Range where you can hit balls without having to reload. But actually pulling off the shots can take a fair bit of time / luck. I have an easier way that everyone has access to.
Go to the last challenge in the Toddler section of Tiger Legacy mode: 1982 First Hole in One. The toddler golfers have a modified swing model that makes it nearly impossible to ‘over-swing’ and makes hitting a perfect tempo swing easier.
On the backswing, make as full a swing as you can. While you can still ‘under-swing’, I found it nearly impossible to ‘over-swing’. So by trying to max out the backswing, you can pretty much guarantee a ‘perfect’, so you are already halfway there.
On the downswing, again give it a liberal amount of power. It is pretty much the same as the follow through for a full size golfer, but again over-swinging is a bit harder to do, making hitting that ‘perfect’ a fair bit easier than in normal play.
You get 5 attempts for this challenge. If you have not got any ‘perfect’ swings by your last attempt, reload the challenge. But if you do get a few, make sure to finish the challenge so that they save. I managed to get my ten done by playing through the challenge only 3 or 4 times.
Warning: Putt’s don’t seem to count towards the total, and all ten of the perfect swings have to be done in one game session. If you quit out to the XMB, the count is reset when you restart the game.
