How to unlock the That was GIRrrreat! achievement in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 - Definitive Guide
Similar to the FIR achievement, you need to hit all 18 greens. For par 3's you need to hit the green off the tee, for par 4's you need to land on the green by your 2nd shot and for par 5's you must land on the green by your 3rd shot. Of course reaching the green under those requirements count as well. Again i would recommend St Andrews, on Amateur difficulty settings and with calm weather if you are having difficulty. Again, you will likely achieve this simply playing through the career.
This one is pretty easy once you set up your round properly. I got it in the very first round I played, along with Tigers Have FIR, From the Ladies Tees and Can You Give Me a Boost. I’d advise you to also try to get all of these in one go.
Go to Play Now, and set up an 18 Hole Strokeplay with the following settings:
Course: St. Andrews
Tees: Red
Weather: Sunny
Wind: Calm
St Andrews has large and forgiving greens, which should make it easier to make sure you hit every one. The key for getting all Greens In Regulation is to be conservative. You do not need to Birdie or Eagle holes. In fact the score does not matter at all. Aim for the widest sections of fairway available, well away from any bunkers, water or rough. This should make your approach shots easy. Because you are playing off the Red tees, distance shouldn’t be a problem.
Hitting a Green In Regulation means hitting it within a certain amount of shots depending on the holes par. On a Par 5, you have to be on the green within 3 shots or less. On a Par 4, its 2 shots or less. And on a Par 3, you have to make the green with your first shot. A little spin can generally save an errant shot. But if you are having trouble, stick to aiming at the centre / widest part of the green. Ignore the pin, as the score does not matter.
Your GIR’s are marked on the scorecard after each hole, so you can keep track of your progress. All holes count towards the stat.
