How to unlock the Pai Mei achievement in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 - Definitive Guide
From x360a thread:
I think I understand the programming issue causing the negative experience bonus for the XP pin bonus line.
There is a base XP on the first line. The next three lines are multipliers for play settings, course, and XP pin.
If a line lists your multiplier as 1.75, the math done to calculate the numeric value for the line is (line listed value - 1)*base XP (i.e. a multiplier of 1.75 only gives you .75 extra XP calculated from the base value. If it makes sense so far, try the math with a value of 0.00 (XP pin bonue when not using a pin). (0-1)*base XP or -(base XP). Basically the math for each line item is calculated the same when either the calculation should be different for the XP pin bonus or the XP pin bonus should start from a value of 1.00.
Note I have not gotten any XP pins to try yet. If anyone has some, please check and see if the XP pin bonus is correctly applied. If not, the value could be -(base XP) too low in all cases.
Hope this made some sense and helped.
Step 1 - Go online and play a 3-hole mini game. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, host or join, how many other people are in the match, or if you even finish all 3 holes. Just make sure the match starts with an opponent.
Step 2 - After the conclusion of your 3-hole go back in to Career Mode and start up your next round wherever that may be (never select the "Training Round" when doing this!).
*OPTIONAL* Step 3 - As soon as the game loads up and drops you on the tee box immediately do the "Save & Quit" option in the Pause menu. Do not take even a single shot before quitting. This is optional because the glitch still works, but the XP displays don't work the same. So rather than showing: Birdie 25 XP twice, it will only show it once. But you're still getting the same double XP.
Step 4 - Once you've quit out... then immediately resume or restart the round (it doesn't matter which one). If everything has been done correctly then the glitch will now be active. You will know right away whether it's working or not because every XP award that you earn will now be listed on your screen twice:
Your golfer level will increase as you play rounds with your created golfer. Typically career mode offers the best way to gain exp, although any game mode will keep your golfer ranking up. This will come naturally to anyone intending on completing the full 1000. These achievements pop mid-round when you have gained enough exp to reach the relevant level.
Your Golfer Level is a gauge that tells you generally how good your created golfer is. Gaining levels unlocks attribute points to assign to the various skills your player has, as well as equipment for your player.
To gain Golfer Levels, you earn experience points for things such as hitting the fairway in regulation, sinking longs putts, making par, etc, etc. Tournament rounds offer the best form of experience, giving you multipliers for finishing well and for the difficulty you play on. In the early levels, you can gain between 2 and 3 levels per tournament round playing on pro difficulty. You’ll gain levels in that way, until you hit around level 40 where it will take a round to gain about a level and a half.
Difficulty modifiers, such as turning off putting assist, making striking the ball harder, and turning off the green grid, all add to the difficulty multiplier that multiplies your experience gained at the end of each round. Though you may not get as good of a score, attempt to make the game harder if you are up to the task, and score some extra experience points.
Alternatively, if you have a save file from last years' iteration, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, you can import it and instantly be the golfer level of that file. Thank TwiztidDGM for the tip.
