In order to have access to where the baseball is located in Act 2, you'll need to open the vent on the roof in Act 1. You'll hear the robot mention the vine needs more light while you're in the attic. Later, when you're on the rooftop, after traversing a few obstacles you'll get to the window that leads back into the house. Pass this window and climb up, make a couple jumps to where the vent in located. Otherwise the vine won't grow, and thus will not grant access.
In Act 2, when you are looking for the radio in the attic you'll move to the right and find a rocking chair. Get onto the chair and use the aforementioned vine to swing over to the right.
Push the bird cage to drop the ball. Then drop down and pull the yellow truck to be able to gain access to the baseball
