How to unlock the Hoist the Sails achievement in Time on Frog Island - Definitive Guide
Story-related
Short List of what you need to do:
1. Interact with your boat to recognize what parts are damaged
2. Get Plant back from Painter Frog by giving him a Bottle to paint
3. Talk to FisherFrog about getting rope to find out he needs a feather
4. Talk to Guard Frog to get love letter to bring to Painter Frog
5. Bring letter to Painter Frog to get love letter to bring back to Guard Frog
6a. If on Day 2 or later, grab the stone Frog Head from the Training Dummy in the fort the Guard Frog was guarding and place it in the scarecrow in the Northwest of the three crop plots of the Farmer's garden(the Farmer is North of the boat campsite). This will allow the blue fruit to be growing when we wake up the next day. Now go to sleep until you get a Sunny Day.
6b. If on Day 1, run to the Northwest plot of fruits in the Farmer's Garden and bring one of the blue fruits to your campsite. With the fruit near you on the ground, go to sleep until you get a Sunny Day.
7. Wake up(on a Sunny Day) and chat with the Painter Frog. He wants to paint you a sail, but needs Blue Paint which he gets from grubs. Grab the blue fruit from your camp(or run to the Farmer's plot to get one, if you had to place the scarecrow head) and then head directly East from the Farmer's House and feed the fruit to a grub
8. Bring the grub to the Painter to get a Sail
9. Put the sail on the boat for the Achievement
Below I'll explain the steps in more detail, and I've attached a video of my full Walkthrough of the game. Because its a full Walkthrough, we do a ton of things inbetween the steps above, so I can't point you to timestamps for all of the steps. At 1:06:38 we chat with the Painter Frog, get the blue fruit and grub, and retrieve the sail, if you are looking to see the sail quest specifically.
Attaching the Sail before finishing the Chef Frog's Quests will void the "Just here for the Food" Achievement.
--------------------------------------------
This is for repairing the sail on your boat. In order to do this, you need to do the first two Painter Quests, which include completing the Guard Frog's Quest and starting the Fisherman Frog's Quest.
First, place at least one of the planks from the water where you wake up to start the game onto the side of your broken boat. This has you 'inspect' the damage so you know what needs to be repaired. This is important.
Now, talk to the Painter Frog to ask him what he needs to give you your plant back. He wants the bottle that was next to us on the beach when we woke up, so grab it and give it to him.
Now, head Northwest to find the Fisherman Frog. He'll be up a small windy hill just right of his house. On the way up, if you inspected your boat, you'll get a prompt about needing rope. Now chat with the Fisherman to find out he needs a Feather. You have to do this, or else the next part of this Guide won't trigger.
Now head NE into the village and find the fort-like area with the Guard Frog guarding the entrance. Chat with him. You somehow can see that the Axolotl has a feather, and you have a conversation with the Guard Frog about it, which results in them asking you to bring a letter to the Painter Frog. He drops the letter, so grab it and head South to bring the letter to the Painter Frog. He'll ask you to bring HIS letter to the Guard Frog, so once he drops it, grab it and return to the Guard Frog.
The next step will differ depending on how many days you have played so far.
If you are on Day 2 or later, the scarecrow heads have been stolen from the Farmer's land, which means the fruits won't be growing. Go inside the fort the Guard Frog was protecting and go right to find a Training Dummy that has one of the scarecrow heads in it. Grab it and bring it the the Northwest plot in the Farmer's Garden. This will allow the blue fruits to grow.
If you are on Day 1, the Scarecrow heads are still in place, so run to the farmer's land and grab a blue fruit, then bring it to your boat campfire and place it on the ground nearby.
Regardless of what Day you are on, at this point, build a fire and go to sleep until you get a Sunny Day.
Once its Sunny, go chat with the Painter Frog about getting a sail. He wants to paint something on it for you, but needs blue paint so he asks you to bring him a....grub. Grab a blue fruit, either from your camp or the Farmer's land, and head directly East from the Farmer's House to reach a grove of trees with some grub(they don't appear if it is raining, which is why we waited for a Sunny day). Drop the fruit in the middle of the grove and run away so that a grub eats it and becomes too large to run away. Go pick it up and bring it back to the Painter Frog to get the sail.
Again, if you are trying for the "Just here for the food" Achievement, drop the sail behind your campsite log instead of placing it on the boat.
But if you don't care about that, place the sail on the boat to unlock the achievement.

This trophy will take 2-5 in-game days to complete, depending on when you get the blueberries. When you first start the game, talk to the Painter just West of your campsite/ship. He's painting a yellow plant sitting on a rock, which just so happens to be yours. They'll ask you to get them a bottle with some orange liquid in it to replace the flower. The bottle is sitting on the beach just by your ship (unless you already tossed it around randomly). Pick it up with and talk to the Painter again to give it to them. If you want to get this trophy done in 2 days, stop by the farm and grab some blueberries off their bushes and just place them on the ground. You'll need these for the second part of the quest. Go to sleep and starting the next day, you can talk to them again about the Sail. They'll ask you for a blue worm-like creature to complete the painting on the Sail with.
East of your campsite (a bit of a way away) will be a small area with some white worm-like creatures roaming about. When you feed them fruit, they'll turn into the color of the fruit. To turn them blue, you need to feed one of them a blueberry. If you didn't grab a blueberry on day 1, you 'll need to grow your own (to learn how to grow the blueberries, please see One with the frogs and look under the Farmer's questline). When you have a blueberry, take it to the worms and drop it on the ground. When one eats it, it'll turn blue. Note the worms will not appear if it's raining. They only come out when it's sunny outside. Pick up the newly blued worm and take it back to the Painter. They'll finish the painting on the sail and give it to you.
Pick up the sail and attached it to your ship to unlock this trophy.
