How to unlock the Reach 1982 achievement in Time Pilot - Definitive Guide

For this achievement, you need to complete the third stage. This stage has you against helicopters that shoot bullets and fire homing missiles (which you can shoot down to unlock “Missile Attack 2”). There is a meter along the bottom of the screen to track your progress on how many enemies you’ve killed, which reduces as you shoot them down. Once you’ve killed 56 enemy helicopters, a CH-47 helicopter will appear. Destroy it (it takes 7 hits) to unlock this achievement.
You can lose lives and still obtain this achievement as long as you complete the stage.

1982 is the fourth level of the game. Shoot down enough opponents in 1970 (the third level) to call out the large helicopter at the end of it and then destroy it to progress to 1982 and unlock the Achievement.
