How to unlock the Very Gracious achievement in TimeShift - Definitive Guide

This achievement is very easy to get.

Host ANY type of ranked match it doesn't matter if people join or not just as long as you're hosting a dedicated server.

You do NOT need to leave your Xbox on for the full 48hours straight. What I did was left my Xbox on at night when I'm sleeping for about 8 hours, then quit the match and do the same the next night. If you do it this way you should unlock it in about 6 days.

One more note about this, if you host a player match and customize the rules as per the guide for the "Have It Your Way" achievement, then any match played on your dedicated server counts towards that achievement as well. I hosted a match with a low score/time limit and turned on instant kills and got it while my dedicated server was running.

Does being disconnected from xbox live or just the game you're hosting effect time counting towards the achievement?

You can NOT be disconnected from xbox live u need to b hosting a dedicated server while your on XBL... also make sure u quit out of the dedicated server that you hosted so that the hours that you have done get saved. Also if you get Disconnected from XBL when youve been hosting a game it wont count. if you want to know more PM me r add me on XBL.

As well matches played on your server count towards the "100 games played" achievement (not the 100 wins though so this is kinda a moot point).

Yea you can get it while the servers r running... tho if you stay in the game for say 12hours then u get disconnected from XBL those 12 hours will not count so ur best just to quit the server every so often just to b on the safe side.

Can the "100 games played" "Have It Your Way" achievements be done on ranked as well as player matches?

Do people have to be in your lobby or can you just host the lobby and no one joins and still get the achievement as long as it's over 48 hours?

I'm not sure what to make of this achievement. I just got it today, but I'm not sure how that is possible, according to the description you gave. I started hosting over the weekend, but my xbox shut off after 6 hours because I didn't have a play n charge kit connected with a rubber band (and I didn't want to turn off the auto shutdown). I set it up to host again overnight, but got disconnected for some reason. I thought all my progress was lost because I wasn't able to hit "quit" while connected to Live. It seems to have saved the progress though, because I left my xbox on all day today, but that still would have been short of the 48 hours if it didn't save it at all. Like I said, I'm stumped, but it did pop today when I selected quit. (after about 10 hours straight or so) Take this with a grain of salt, but perhaps it will help others who may have frequent disconnects. Still I vote positive because the basic information is exactly what I used.

@tdcobra
Yea if you get disconnected it does seem to still count.
I actually got the achievement when it disconnected me off of Xbox live.
I think it still counts as quitting the only problem there was that i didn't get a date stamp on my achievement :( i really hate when that happens because i love knowing when i got stuff.

Does anyone know if you must host a dedicated server for exactly 48 hours or approximately 48 hours? Because unless I've been counting up my numbers wrong, I've spent 49 hours hosting so far...

Is there any way to track how many hours you've done?

@ Clarion 85 - You probably disconnected from XBox Live but the server continued to run and it popped whilst you were offline. It is a very common occurrence.

I can also confirm that if you get disconnected while hosting it still will count I just came home and was kicked off xbl and the achievement unlocked with no time stamp. Glad it counted!

So everytime I try this i get either disconnected or it tells me duplicate gamer tag usage. I don't know if these hours are counting as a result. I'm on a series X through back compatibility

So this popped for me way before 48 hours. I estimate about 31 hours. Use a 360 set to never sleep NOT back compatibility as the emulator will switch off after 3 hours inactivity disconnecting you which affects this achievement. Leave xbox on about 9 hours a day when not home, and you will get it in about 3 days. 360 slim are more reliable than brick 360s.

Can you get this solo? TA flags say otherwise...

Yes, Melodic. Just host a ranked match alone on any game mode and idle your console.

I don't think the 360 emulator on the Xbox One was disconnecting for me. There was a couple of times I left it overnight where the screen was dimmed (meaning it was inactive) but it was still connected to XBL and the achievement tracked without any issue.

I also think that it unlocked before 48 hours, I think it popped at around the 30-35 hour mark.

Just adding to the help above, this achievement unlocked for me while i was on that black and white screen. obviously you still have to quit out for the hours to count up, but if you only need say 4 hours like i did, just leave it on the black and white screen and your achievement will pop,no need to quit out at the end.

@Arcade Elite X. Its been years and I do not recall if it was a menu or not. I do recall that when i left it for ages and came back it was just a black screen. Perhaps the start menu is there then it disappears after a while due to idle? Its likely the start menu yes.

Also holy hell, the severs are still up for this game! Thats mental haha.

When setting up a room, just set Dedicated Server to ON. The screen will go black and will show the names of people who join. I would suggest only doing this a few hours at a time to not put too much strain on your xbox.
Note: This does NOT have to be fourty eight hours straight. Also, people don't actually have to use the server for it to count. As long as you set it up and let it run, the time will count.
