Story Related, Can't Be Missed
Glitch note:
Glitch note:
- This is only a minor glitch but it's possible for one of Dryl's minions to spawn under the water and get stuck there but fortunately, this doesn't affect the outcome of either the fight or the mission.
"Mortal Coil" is the seventh main story quest of the game and the trophy will pop shortly after Dry'l's third form has been terminated.
Note: This is a 3 stage fight, each with their own variant of the boss.
Dry'l, Whose Chains Are The Sea - Fought during the quest "Mortal Coil":
This Dry'l has the following attacks:
Fist Slam
Impaler spawn
Incendiary Sea Mine Clusters
This stage isn't too bad since he mostly just uses his fists but they do a lot of damage so stay as far back as you can and aim for his orange glowing bits. Normally you would use a fire weapon against flesh but Dry'l also happens to be vulnerable to Frost and Dark Magic so use those if you don't have a Fire weapon or Spell handy. Once you get his health down to 5%, he will submerge himself, then reappear in his next form. Also note the sea in front of you, is made of deadly Poison that will quickly kill you if you fall in so stay away from the shoreline.
Dry'l, Whose Blood Is Thunder - Fought during the quest "Mortal Coil":
Note: The 1.10 patch, nerfed Dry'l's shield regeneration by 5% so he is easier to kill.
This Dry'l has the following attacks:
Lightning Harpoon
Colossal Harpoons
Poison Wave
Spearmaiden spawn
Impaler spawn
Shield regen via a Lightning spell
This stage is pretty tough, because Dry'l will use a lot of powerful Lightning based magic, with the worst ones being his Colossal Harpoons and a spell that regens his shields. Fortunately though, his shields and health are still pretty weak so it won't take much to force him to evolve into his next form. Dry'l will also spawn some minions for you to fight but keep at least 2 of them alive so you can get a second wind if you go down. For the times he is at the very back of the arena, you will have to use long range attacks, because nothing else will reach him.
Dry'l, Whose Heart Is Fire - Fought during the quest "Mortal Coil":
This Dry'l has the following attacks:
Fire Breath
Fire Balls
Fist Slam
Incendiary Sea Mine Clusters
Spearmaiden spawn
Impaler spawn
Dry'l's third and final form is also his worst, because his Fist Slam and Fire attacks are nearly impossible to avoid so make extra certain there are at least 2 minions around at all times in case you go down and need a second wind. Also note that Dry'l's health has been increased for this stage so he won't be as easy to kill but the weapons you used earlier will still be effective. Once Dry'l is toast for good, you can leave the area.
Story-related; cannot be missed.
This is the seventh story quest in the game.
