How to unlock the Living Legend achievement in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands - Definitive Guide

Note: Unless Gearbox adds any trophies for them, you will still only need to reach Lv40 for the 100% when the inevitable Level Cap increases happen in the future.

There are various ways to earn the XP needed to reach Lv40:
  • Completing all the side quests
  • Completing the main storyline
  • Completing all 6 shrines
  • Clearing encampments
  • Completing all 7 Dungeon Doors
  • Replaying the Ancient Powers (Part 5) side quest over and over
  • Completing the World and Character Challenges
  • Farming bosses for new gear
  • Replaying the Chaos Chamber
  • Join a friend who is at Chaos Level 35 and have them power level you by killing some of the easier bosses.

By doing all of this, you should reach Lv40 by the time you finish the "The Son of a Witch" main story quest. Also, see below for 2 general tips videos (credit to Kody McHugh and Moxsy for these):

Level 40 is the max level in this game, and unlike all Borderlands games, you will actually reach max level by the time you complete all story and side quests, and definitely by the time you complete all other achievements. For completeness' sake, here is a quick rundown on leveling up.

There are three sources of XP in this game:

  1. Completing quests
  2. Killing enemies
  3. Completing challenges
The first two are very straightforward and the same as all Borderlands games, but the third is something new to this game. In Borderlands games, the ingame challenges for things such as kills, critical hits, looting stuff, collectibles, selling weapons, etc., rewarded you with Badass Tokens. In this game, they reward you with money and XP. Not only that, but a significant amount of XP when you reach the upper tiers of each challenge. It's therefore in your best interest to complete as many as possible to level up as quickly as possible. Even so, there's no need to check the challenges ever. You will complete a ton of them naturally by killing enemies in various ways, completing quests, finding random collectibles, selling and buying stuff, etc., that you'll notice yourself leveling up from doing simple tasks too.
