Knight Mare is one of the hardest and most annoying bosses in the game due to the sheer number of 1 shot kill attacks she possesses. Knight Mare has 4 health bars to deal with, over the various stages of this fight:
- Yellow - Weak to Poison
- Red - Weak to Fire
- Blue - Weak to Lightning
- Silver - Weak to Frost, Dark Magic and Non-Elemental attacks
You will either need 1 weapon or spell in each of the above elements or 1 seriously powerful non-elemental weapon to take her out. Your companion will act as a decoy most of the time, thus giving you time to whittle away Knight Mare's health. A decent AoE (Area of Effect) spell will take care of most of Knight Mare's minions but the 4 attacks in particular you must watch out for are:
- Whirling Dervish - Knight Mare will use this attack a lot during the second stage of the fight but she's completely invulnerable whilst doing it so keep moving and stay far away from her. You also have to watch out for the Dark Magic Missile Barrage she launches whilst doing this attack.
- Lightning Ponies Stampede - This is easily her deadliest attack and will 1 shot you if you're careful but it only appears during the final stage of the fight, though with careful timing, you can jump over it by aiming for the gap between any of the ponies and pressing Cross at the right moment. It's also possible to duck under it with Circle if you're in the lower portion of the arena.
- Lightning Sword - This also only appears during the final stage of the fight but is near impossible to avoid, due to its large blast radius so make sure you are at full health if you see her about to slam her sword into the ground.
- Lightning Field - This is another attack that only appears during the final phase but is near impossible to dodge, due to its massive range so do your best to run far away from Knight Mare if you see a Blue circle appear around her.
The third and final phase of the fight is the hardest, because that's when Knight Mare starts using all her cheap insta-kill attacks so keep moving and ensure there are plenty of minions around at all times for you to get a second wind off (which is done by activating one of the 3 totems in the arena). Once Knight Mare is toast, you can exit the area and finish the quest.
