How to unlock the ...Becomes the Master achievement in Titanfall 2 - Definitive Guide

Mission 1: The Gauntlet
Recommended Setting: Auto-Sprint (Pilot)

Loadout Required:
- R-201 (Rifle) or EVA-8 (Shotgun)
- EPG (Found hidden at the shooting range, alongside the outside of the ring above)
- Arc Grenades

In a similar vein to the classic "Mile High Club", this will require you to complete an almost flawless run of "The Gauntlet", scoring less than 33.65 seconds in order to attain 3rd place on the single player scoreboard.

The most important factor here is SPEED. You will need to be able to reliably complete the course in 33 seconds before even factoring in the enemies. Once you have a good feel for the controls and how to chain movements in order to maintain a high speed, start killing the enemies during your runs using the most efficient methods. You will need to get all 15 enemies in a run or else you will get a 2 second penalty per target missed. You'll use arc grenade for large groups of enemies, the R-201 for close range high speed shots, and the EPG for longer range splash damage kills. Don't accidentally hit yourself with arc damage, as this will disturb your suit and slow you down. During your entire run, you should be wall running, double jumping and sliding. If you aren't, you are losing speed and therefore time. View the video for the exact strategy for every enemy.

You'll have to make some difficult shots, but if you manage to put a good run together while maintaining high speeds, the run will come together and you'll get it eventually.
HERE is an alternate strategy showing a 25.40 second run. It will require more skill, but might have more room for error for some players.

Definitely found the shotgun easier than the AR in terms of hitting the targets. Best I've managed so far is 34.10 but it definitely feels like it's coming together after an hours practice.

Annoyingly bugged the first time (3rd place and gave the getting old voice line as well) but after a reload got it after a few goes. Shotgun seems to be a little easier. Did it with 0.05 to spare even messing up at the end with the last guy.

HAHAHA! 33 seconds flat! Very proud of this one. Takes some serious reflexes to get it done.

The hardest part is the final room. When you make that jump from the left wall and hit the right one, keep running along it until you begin to drop. Once you begin to drop, jump again to the right and wall run a little further until you can see the first target in your peripheral. Takes a ton of practice to get it down, but its so worth it once you finally pop it!

I'm having difficulty unlocking this achievement. I've made the top 3 a few times but it still hasn't popped: playing

I assume this is a problem with the achievements themselves and not the game, since that occurs sometimes on the Xbox One. If anyone else has experienced this and knows of a fix, please let me know!

Arggh there's always 1 annoying shit achievement in a game. This surely is the crapiest cheevo on titanfall 2! I can't even make the time without shooting the targets. Chaining jumps sucks ass! I'll take "mile high club" over this any time!

The only thing that makes this achievement so obnoxious is the retarded wall run mechanics. They don't work half of the time.

By SHOTOKANKATANA on 13 Dec 2016 19:37
Took me about 15 minutes. Focus on your path more so than your shooting: jumping, sliding. FYI the 20.6 second run is available on Youtube. How that guy builds so much speed, I don't know, but I used his grenade tricks at the beginning over Maka's method.

Easily the hardest achievement going. Keep trying guys and girls. You'l get it! wink. If I can do it, so can you!

I got this with 33:03, after getting no where close on any other attempt.

Main things that saved me time was jumping at the very start, cutting the corner after enemies 8-10, and sticking to the right wall going into the last room

Whew, finally got it. I used Maka's route and just the shotgun as the weapon. Seems dumb but when I got really frustrated I would melee a guy if I missed him, helped blow off steam rather than just swearing all the timelaugh

Can't remember the last game that had the tutorial achievement being harder then completing the whole thing on Master difficulty. They really went for extremes here because beyond this achievement the rest is laughably easy to obtain. Though getting multiple times between 33.70 and 33.90 before finally completing it was really frustrating :S

Finally got it after well over 100 tries and at least 5 hours. Got it by 0.25 seconds. Great guide, that last room always got me, I could never get it the way it was in the guide. Also using a shotgun is much better than the R-201. If you really want this achievement, don’t spend longer than two hours, I took breaks. I got it after taking a break 4 times. When you finally get it it’s so satisfying.

This was a toughie for me. After 5~6 hours spread over 3, 2 Hour sessions, I thought I’d never get it, having posted a best time of 33.90 on 3 spectate occasions.

Then I finally did something I’d never done on any of my runs before, and that was on the last room, I messed up my initial jump when trying to line up my shot for the first dude. What eventually happened was I shot the first guy as I was coming straight for him, double jumped off his platform, killed the second guy point blank, fell to the right of his pillar, bounced between his pillar and the wall on the right and double jumped toward the exit. I ended it with a fairly leisurely stroll over the finish line, and didn’t even consider sliding as I didn’t think I’d beat the time. I was very surprised to see 33.60 and the achievement pop soon after.

I was using the EV-8 and arc grenades only.

I’m pretty rubbish at this sort of thing, so if I can do it anybody can!

R-201 sprays perfectly to miss every target, grenades need to be as close as a suppository to hit a target and never gets all 3 in the first room, EPG needs to be a direct hit... I am hating this so far.

By rocking23nf on 02 Dec 2019 06:23
Been doing it for hours and the best I can get is like 44 seconds. The aim with the rifle is awful it just sprays everywhere or you have to be super precise with it in bursts. The shotgun needs to reload mid run which is a massive pain since it's slow to do so. Fuck this, it's the only achievement I can see myself struggling with in this game. It's way too hard.

By YaIrishMick96 on 15 Feb 2020 12:27
Use the shotgun, it’s the best weapon for this and if you hit all 3 grenades like Maka did you have enough shells to finish without reloading.

By MAJIN BOOSH on 31 Mar 2020 18:03
Makin Boosh - Hit all 3 grenade shots. I got a better chance of winning the lottery. I can hit the same spot 10 times in a row and get 10 f***ing outcomes. Pretty hard to practice when there is no consistency in the grenades. I've had runs where I have hit a guy with the arc grenade and he has lived but his mate 10 meters away dies. Tell me how the hell am I suppose to account for that. Its bad enough that I need perfect aim and wall running but to factor in this bullshit is just not fun.

32.80 after about 2 hours of practice. Use the EVO shotgun like many have said to make it easier since the spray on the R201 sucks. And again like others have said practice the last room since this will kill your runs; you need to be able to get through it largely not touching the ground or you won't have enough time. There is a speed run of a 20 second run on YouTube that was very useful.

This achievement is nowhere near as difficult as Mile High Club! MHC took me months of on-and-off trying. Probably around 200-300 attempts. This achievement right here took me 20min and perhaps 30 attempts.

What's also very considered of the developers, is almost instant restarts. No cutscenes, no loading screens. They even reload the weapons for you.

This is by far the 2nd hardest thing in this game. After over a month of practice, I finally got it. But that was a about 5-6+ months ago when I got it. Also, I used the shotgun that was used in the wr, and a grenade boost. The wr is 11.70 seconds, by Cash Mayo.

Hey guys,
I just did it after a few hours of sweating...
Here are a few things i noticed while trying and watching guides:
-Noone mentions that you can duck while jump(thats helpful after the the first nade)
-Holding a direction while walljumping boosts you in that direction(I thought only the double jump changes directions)
-You don´t need to hit all 3 with the first nade. The two in front are key, the third is easy to hit while falling
-MAKE BREAKS my best 4 runs (all sub 35) were each the two after the last two breaks(i would recommend breaks all 15 mins)

-EVA or R201 is eqaul good and on my 4 best runs i didn´t swap weapons. You can reaload before the last two.

This is hard no way around it. However use the shotgun and arc grenades take breaks or play titanfall multiplayer. This is one of those achievements that you will be able to get after a break. At first I was averaging 38-40 seconds then each run was about 34-36. I got 33.80 and was about to give up but then I went for it got it a couple tries after that. Practice practice and it will be yours - for the gap you have to slide under I was immediately sliding as soon as I landed - I changed that to sprint - throw grenade - then slide and that improved my times.

Damn this was rough. Just had to write for anyone who's not skilled, just like me, that if you insist eventually you'll get it. It took me around 10 hours of actual play but divided in many 0,5 or 1 hour reprises. At the beginning I only got like 43 seconds, after a while I was consistently geting 38, and just a few times I got under 37 and just 1 time I got 33.80 seconds. And after that never got back to that for a while until suddenly I got 31.20 and my achievement!
So as others before me wrote it's duable even if you are not skilled, just keep grinding the course.
After this one the Modern warfare polygon seems like child's play...

Achieved with EVA-8 and EPG.

Last room is critical to success. If you’re practicing on and off (like me since 2016), do not forget to practice the last room. If you have moderate speed but make a mistake, always play through to get familiar to the last section. Also, make sure your left analog stick is always pushed forward, it’s easy to forget but speed is king.

Once I did those two factors, I achieved it shortly thereafter.

Tried this for well over an hour, couldn't get the appallingly small splash area down on the rocket launcher, so I tried a different tactic. Just use the shotgun and arc grenades. The spread is more than enough to hit isolated enemies when the crosshair is over them, even the last 5 during the final wall run with plenty of time to reload should you need to. I did it in 5 minutes doing this method.

Got it today. 33.2.

I pretty much used the exact strategy in this video. The thing I was struggling with the most was entering the final room and getting to the right. Try to do the jumps in the middle part exactly as Maka does them. If you jump too early from the right into the final room, your pilot won't go to the right no matter how much you hold the thumbstick to the right, your pilot just stays dead center. So once you get the jumps down it's a peice of cake.

Also, as many other have said I used the shotgun instead of the R201.

I completed at using a slightly different method which was a shotgun instead of the AR. But anyway I wanted to mention that I noticed that the ghost all use different weapons the last 2 seem to be using a smart pistol it could be possible that there is one hidden same as the launcher. Which would make this achievement 10 times easier

I love achievements, but this is everything Titanfall wasn't. A COD achievement. Titanfall was built on improvisation. This is pretty much stick to this line or fail. Titanfall 2 is everything wrong with current video games. An achievement like this shows where the developers heads were when they made this abortion. Not to mention it is glitched and hasn't unlocked for me once at launch and once today. Hope Respawn realize how much they screwed over Titanfall fans with this abortion of a fucking game.

Just so everyone knows -- there is hope even for the worst of FPS players (like me) with enough practice. I spent five hours on this last night, and the closest I got was 34.50. I slept it off, came back this morning, put on some angry music, and I managed exactly 33 seconds after about ten minutes.

Keep trying everyone! Just don't back down and you'll get there eventually!

OK, I've only been seriously been playing Xbox for about 7 months, and I'm not very good at FPS. The Xbox app says I've been playing Titanfall 2 for 42 hours. I've completed the campaign on Regular and I'm half way through on Hard. I'm guessing this achievement has probably taken me about 30 hours to master, but master it I have and it feels GREAT! If I can do it, ANYONE can do it. As Lastimosa keeps saying, it's all about perseverance, perseverance, perseverance.

Hi thanks for your guide Maka.

Personally i used the shotgun for the 2 last kills only, i used principally rocket and the grenade.

if you can't get it, keep persevering.

Personally I tried for a few days yesterday or the day before yesterday I do not know, for hours have tried .

I managed to significantly improve my score at 35 sec, after this I did not manage to go below 35. angry

And today i tried too 2 times the second time i tried durating 40-50 minutes , and i got it clap laugh.

i did it in 33.60

So many clutch guides and videos from this guy just got it after much frustration ran Eva 8 shotgun instead and it helped so much I broke 33.65 a few times but I’d always get a time penalty for missing one of the guys at the beginning the grenades are so random half the time the guy closest to the grenade would be the only one that survives or you would throw it at the legs of the guy while sliding and it would be a dud exploding under his legs and nothing would happen this is all muscle memory and luck I found myself holding my controller in ways I never would without even realizing it so glad it’s over

If it helps anyone, I have just completed this with a time of 33.2 seconds. I spent over 3 hours tonight trying to get it by sticking to the right hand side at the end. My best time on that side was around 36 seconds.

The moment I switched to the left hand side I started breaking into 34 seconds.

I didn’t use the rifle or the EPG. I solely used arc grenades and the EVA-8 Auto.

First cluster of enemies - arc grenade

Then throw an arc grenade under the wall you slide under (all still within one motion from the first grenade)

Once under, have a third grenade primed and ready and throw in between the two targets in the right hand side. Now hit the wall run and shoot the one enemy with the shotgun.

Next cluster of enemies use your arc grenade.

Now as you approach the 3 enemies before the final corner, keep wall hopping but building up height on the wall whilst you shoot the enemies from above.

Now stick to the left hand side, shoot the two enemies with your shotgun as you move along.

Double boost to finish line.

*Make sure to keep speed at all times by dashing forward on the wall.*

*maintain momentum*

*maintain height for final stretch whilst wall running*

Hey I'll add my 2 cents on how I got it. I used the exact steps as in the video with 2 exceptions. If you watch the video, notice how he stops on the wall to throw the first grenade. Instead I never stopped there but rather jumped off threw the grenade then used my second jump and immediately threw the grenade under that small opening. (If you time it right you can immediately slide under and save a little more time but that's a little more difficult.) Doing it this way I was one second faster when you go under that opening. Would have recorded the clip that got me the acheevo and posted it here but it was 4:20 and something made me forget.wink

Okay, I got it on my 20th attempt. Here's the trick, ONLY USE THE SHOTGUN AND GRENADES. Shock the first three, and when you are running up to the slide, shock the next two, then shotgun the middle, shotgun the end, keep bouncing. Grenade the three and then shotgun through the halls.

Here is where you follow the guide above. When you get to the last room, wallrun on the right side until you just slightly past the curve. Then, like the video does (except with a shotgun) hit the first one while falling, catch the wall on the right, shotgun the last one and then bounce through the door.

I just got 33.10 doing that. Shotgun is best gun.

Okay, so I friggen did it. I hate these perfect run achievements. Here's what I've learned-

1. Forget grenades. As I stated in an earlier comment, they need to be administered as a suppositories to be effective. Even dropping it at their feet is a 70% chance fail. You don't want to rely on clusters being killed with those smoke bombs. Use the EPG for the first 3 (two shots) and the second cluster (1-2 shots). Shotgun for the rest.

2. The floor is lava. You touch it your momentum is killed faster than when she screams the wrong name. You remember the turtle and the hare, how the hare lost because it fell asleep? Fake news, it touched the FLOOR.

3. One of the main keys to winning is spending as little time wall running as possible. Jumping with momentum is way faster. That beginning bit can be jumped between pretty quick and it saves a good amount of time. Every millisecond counts for this thing.

4. Reset for any fail. You fart wrong you reset. It looks like you can recover pretty quickly but you won't. You'll notice you're at 32:00 while you're killing the last 2 enemies.

5. I hate to say it, and everyone says it, but you need patience. Original, right? Well it seems like your brain will just need to let things click. I laugh at 100 tries, I must've done 1000 and I made it 33:00. There were times every run was worse than the last, I finished a run .05 too late. I nearly threw my controller so hard it would've hit me in the back of the head.

6. Sweaty, grubby, slippery hands. Deal with them. Idk how, but do. So many stupid perfect runs failed because my slippery thumb let the control stick migrate south for the winter. Not an innuendo.

7. %#@& this achievement.

Got this done today for the second time. First time was on a free-to-play weekend--achievement didn't pop, but the game showed up on my played list. Nice.

Anyway, been a long time and I had to rediscover all of my micro-strategies again from scratch. I followed Maka's route and basic strategies with a few minor enhancements:

1. I used the shotgun--blew more than a couple runs from inexplicable Pulp Fiction moments where my R-201 miraculously missed my target. Shotgun is way more forgiving.

2. You can cook grenades by holding RB and release when they're on target. This was most useful in the first room, where my rhythm went like this:

- jump on left wall outside of gauntlet
- double jump to right wall, start cooking grenade on wall
- double jump to round ceiling wall, immediate jump back
- release grenade immediately before rounding corner
- start cooking another grenade right away
- jump off the wall once, release grenade, jump again

When the timing is just right, a few things should happen: first, you want to toss the first grenade right into the middle enemy of that first group. Just before you wall run around the corner your cooked grenade should be naturally lined up with that enemy. If you wait just a little too long you'll start to round the corner and your throw will pull to the right.

Second, you want to fully round that corner before jumping at the slide gap. Jump, throw, jump will get you the best distance / maintain speed for the gap. Run for about one step to make sure you slide at the enemy you need to shoot, then slide, shoot and double-jump into wall run.

Maintaining momentum through that slide was the toughest part of the whole run for me; the opening rhythm above helped me to keep the slide short, at the right angle, and transitioned back into the wall run without dropping too much speed.

3. Making the right entrance into the last room is also key. After killing the final enemy with the EPG you'll be on the left wall. Keep this run going as long as possible while switching back to the shotgun. Just before the corner, jump once toward the right wall, TURN LEFT TOWARD THE FINAL ROOM, then jump again.

If you drag that double-jump out and adjust your angle in the middle, you'll be able to hang on the right wall just long enough to round the first corner (a small angle before it opens into the wide circular walls). From here you can jump, shoot the first enemy, jump toward the right wall for a wall run to maintain enough speed to reach the exit in time.

Holding off the double jump into the final room until rounding that edge made a huge difference in both distance and speed, and also kept me close enough to the right wall to use it as one last springboard to the exit. It's basically what Maka does, but that midair adjustment helped me to pull off that move more consistently.

Hey everyone, this achievement is definitely a pain but here's a few tips and a very good video from PS4Trophies:

1.While going for this breathe, it will help relax your mind.

2. If you've been trying this for a while and feel like you're going to hit something, take a break from the game, watch a movie or play a different game. Come back with a clear head. It took me 4 tries, 2 hrs each try.

3. I know there's a lot of guides and videos for this already and I've watched them all but the one I'm posting below really helped me a lot with step by step voiceover. I followed it to a t, pausing and playing while practicing every section before really getting into it.

4. You can just use a shotgun and arc grenades(as the video proves). You don't have to use the EPG If you feel like switching to a weapon during the gauntlet burdens you a lot(I know I forgot a couple of times to switch on certain sections and it messed me up). It was only in my achievement run that I used only the shotgun and arc grenades so I didn't have to think about switching to EPG.

5. If you feel like you're moving too fast or thinking ahead pause the game, breathe. View the video, go over the section you're at come back clear headed and focused on the section your in.

One last thing, if you mess up or at the end and don't feel you'll make it, just pause and restart, don't finish because your ghost pilot will follow you the next run and if you don't like being distracted then that's what it'll do if you finish.

BTW, my finish time was 33.50

Video not mine, Credit to PS4Trophies.

Makas guide was good and got me to a consistent 36 second run, but this was definitely the best video out there for sure, especiialy in dealing with the last section. Also using the eva 8 shotgun is way easier than the assault rifle.

Yeah, that long hallway right before the last room is crucial to build enough momentum especially timing how long you wall run on each side. It took me awhile to get used to timing the fall while shooting the front dummy, falling a tiny bit, and then immediately jumping to wallrun the right side of the wall.

Many thanks! Finally got it on my 3rd 2 hour session. I missed the final wall boost and still managed at 32.80. So yes you mess up slightly and still make. The hardest part in opinion ia kot the very final part. But the portion before. Trying to shoot all 3 enemies, well getting to the very tip of the right wall before jumping over to the left wall needing enough wall to make the bigger jump into the final area.

RECOMMENDED WEAPONS:
- EPG Launcher
- ARC Grenades
- Assault Rifle (R-201) or Shotgun (EVA-8)

GETTING THE SECRET EPG LAUNCHER:
When you enter the Gauntlet Challenge, turn back and go to the shooting range. If you go to the very front where you drop down and respawn, you can spot the EPG on the front side way up there. Wall run on one side and quickly press X/Square to pick up the weapon.

BASIC INFO:
- To be in the top 3 you have to beat the time of 33:50.
- Difficulty settings don't apply here
- Practice is everything

MAIN INFO:
This is gonna take a lot of practice and comes down to knowing your every move. Momentum is everything and you have to keep your speed up with wallrunning, but try to finish the run even if you made mistakes.

The last room is the most difficult one and even if you are sure you don't beat the gauntlet time and made mistakes before, you need to get the last room down perfect and practice it.

TIPS:
- Keep your D-Pad always aimed at the direction you're moving while wall running.
- Jump off walls gives you a speed boost. Find a balance between moving fast and still hitting the targets.
- Embrace the frantic. After you learned the route don't play it save.
- (In the last room) Only shoot the 2 targets while you are in the air. Avoid the circle wall running completely.

Becomes the master is a very difficult achievement which requires near flawless execution to pull it off kinder like mile high club.

To start there are a few things you want to do before attempting your run;
Firstly, Enable auto sprint. This will take some pressure off you while you try do your run.
Second, inside the weapon range there is a secret weapon outside of the map called the EPG, run along the walls inside the weapon range and jump out towards the targets then on the wall above where you would fire the weapons from you will see the EPG.
Thirdly, pick up the R-201 assault riffle & some arc grendades.

Now you're ready to run the course but be prepared to fail.. a lot.. your main goal is to finish the course in under 33 seconds which will require you to kill all enemies and keep up momentum the entire way through. This can be achieved by wall running and jumping. Here is a video of myself doing it and beating the course in 32 seconds with a set back or two, naturally it can be done in 20 seconds if you're really good at it.

Mission 1: The Gauntlet
Recommended Setting: Auto-Sprint (Pilot)
Recommended Loadout: Evo Shotgun; Arc grenades

After a lot of tries, I was able to get this achievement. Once I did, I was able to repeat the performance almost every time within a 30 minute window. My best time was 32.00 even with mistakes.

I show 3 different runs and walk through the fastest run. Good luck!

I just wanted to add that i found using the EVA-8 auto shotgun worked a lot better for me personally than the R-201. So if it's the gun that's giving you some trouble i'd recommend switching it up. Hope this helped!

Hi, I just wanted to show you that even with some mistakes, you really can still do it in time, so don't give up on reaching that top 3, guys! wave

Loadout :
- Primary : Alternator
- Secundary : EPG (Hidden weapon)
- Grenades : Arc

For this achievement I made a quick guide for how I did it. To be honest this is a good path but practice is the most important thing. Keep trying this path with the weapons I show you and you should get it. I use the EPG and the EVA shotgun. The time to beat is 33.65 sconds. I hope it helps!

Follow what I do !

You must complete the course in 33.65 seconds or less.

Use the Shotgun / Arc Grenades for best results. Accuracy doesn’t matter.

Kill 15 targets — throw grenades ahead of the 3-target clusters. Only shoot solo targets.

Never stop moving, and never touch the ground. Continuously wall-run as you shoot / throw grenades to clear targets.

Only run on the ground when you absolutely have to (though the low door, and right at the finish line) and practice shooting while wall-running.
13

This achievement requires you to get a time of less than 33.65 seconds on the pilot's gauntlet, which is present in the first mission of the campaign. Start up this mission on any difficulty (difficulty will not make this any easier/ harder) and play through the mission until you reach it.

The pilot's gauntlet is a track of various obstacles and stationary non- hostile enemies which you need to complete as fast as possible. To the left of the start to the track there is a leaderboard of fastest times, you need to place third or higher (I'm fairly certain is impossible to get first). Unfortunately, this is no easy task, and is without a doubt the hardest achievement in the entire game. It requires incredibly precise timing and pulling off multiple skill moves one after another. Any enemies who you do not kill (there are 15 total) will add 2 seconds to your total time, so I'm fairly certain you can not beat this without killing all 15. In the room prior to the gauntlet is a series of weapons on the walls, I recommend you have the following in your inventory
-Arc grenades (explode on impact, be careful though because if you are hit by one it slows you down and you will need to restart).
-The EVA-8 shotgun
-The EPG launcher (obtaining this is a bit tricky, in the shooting gallery in the previous room it is on the wall overhanging you when you are looking out at the targets. You must jump onto the nearby pillars and make a leap for it, grabbing it quickly.
-I also recommend you put on automatic sprint in settings, this is not completely necessary, but I found it a little bit helpful.

When you're all equipped, head over to the start of the gauntlet. I recommend you run it blind a few times just to get a good feel of its layout. Now, this took me about 4 and half hours even having lots of experience with the movement system, so do not expect to get this first try.

I'm including a video of me completing it, and I'll walk through exactly how I did it (note the achievement doesn't show up for me because this was off xbox DVR, but you can see my time at the end. What's nice is pausing and pressing restart gauntlet will instantly put you at the start, no loading time.

How I did it

1. Single jump onto the wall immediately to your left and briefly wall run, jumping off to the right at the last moment.

2. Double jump onto the right wall, and wall run for a split second, double jumping off this wall straight onto the same wall a few feet up (this is faster than just wall running the whole way).

3. Wall run until you reach the circular suspended pillar, and single jump onto this, immediately jumping off back onto the same wall (this takes a fair bit of practice, if you a re split second late you will jump off to the left more than you want.

4. Wall run on this wall until you get about halfway to the end of the brown rectangle, jump off.

5. This jump is difficult as you want to land in a specific spot, but at the same time you need to throw a grenade while midair at the three enemies behind you to the left. You want to aim right for the middle most guy, trying to hit him directly. You are unable though to tell if you actually got all three of these guys as you need to immediately turn back around while mid air and continue. You are looking to land about in the middle of the area, slightly right, and as close to the sliding part as possible (though not too close, you need to build up a bit of speed to actually get a slide off).

6. Side under this section as soon as you are able and shoot the guy to the left with your shotgun while sliding.

7. Immediately stand up and jump to the wall to your right, killing the second enemy right before you do.

8. Wallrun on this wall briefly, turning and shooting the third enemy in the room while you do so.

9. Jump off this wall and at the last possible moment double jump to get to the far adjacent wall. In the middle of this jump shoot the single enemy in front of you.

10. Immediately jump off this wall and onto the adjacent wall, you want to try and get as high off the ground as possible.

11. Double jump back over to the adjacent wall, and in the middle of doing so throw a grenade right in the center of the three enemies, you need to make sure you are high enough to where the electric explosion does not damage you.

12. Continue on this wall, double jump the indent to speed yourself up, and be pulling out your EPG amidst this. This first enemy can be killed by either your EPG or a grenade.

13. Right after killing this guy, jump to the adjacent wall and shoot the next enemy with the EPG while wall running.

14. Jump back again to the other wall, and, same thing, shoot the next enemy with your EPG.

15. Remain on this wall, the next area is very tricky. When the wall starts to curve out, jump off slightly and grab back onto it ASAP.

16. The wall will curve in, here, you want to kind of jump this whole indentation, while doing so turn to shoot the enemy with your shotgun.

17. You want to grab back onto this same wall, which is very tricky. Once you do immediately jump off towards the last enemy, hitting him with your shotgun while mid- air (make sure he's dead before you land on his platform)

18. Land on the last guys platform and immediately jump off towards the finish, sliding as soon as you hit the ground.

If you perform absolutely perfectly, you should barely beat the required time.

Again, this is a very difficult achievement, expect this to take you many many hours, good luck!

I used this guide it is a lot simpler. Took me 20 mins after trying for hours.

The caveat being I used the arc granade, throw front/middle left from the cylinder at the start, slid under, shot him, naded the other 2 holos, continued on his guide.

Lazy mans guide to the ... Becomes the Master achievement.
Loadout: Evo Shotgun, EPG Launcher; Arc grenades

A lot of gamers like myself can watch a clip and recreate the route but i want to include some tips and notes on subtle benefits that i found while trying for this achievement. Hopefully this saves you some time.

1. Start with a wall run and jump to the right wall with enough time to immediately jump again past the 135° corner. Make sure the EPG is out.
2. After jumping off the central pillar and back to the right wall, immediately prime a grenade and throw it at the middle target and jump again towards the center of the wall slit. This immediate action allows you to keep a lower angle for the in air EPG shot through the slit in the next wall; Its easier to hit that next soldier with a lower angle.
3. As you slide into the next room you throw the arc grenade and at the same time jump to the second rock formation to your left making sure to not look at the rock (that will make you climb on top of it. It felt like the grenade throw animation also locked out the clambering, thus the simultaneous timing). Then jump from that rock to the right wall.
3b. Alternatively, i noticed that both the targets on the right that i get with the arc grenade can be hit with 1 well aimed epg shot, and all three targets can be hit at the same time with a single extremely well aimed arc grenade. Using the epg method you could wait until after you jump to the right wall to aim and shoot and the single arc grenade method would save time from having to aim more than once.
4. this is easy to see in my video but you can kill all three targets in this first jumping hallway with a single shot from the EPG. Aim at the ground in front of the middle soldier. This allows a lot of room for aiming errors because you only have to save a single epg shot for this.
5. Its important to either hang onto the inside right corner or jump off the left wall directly into the second jumping hallway to maintain.
6. The epg makes the next 3 targets easier to hit but isn't necessary just make sure to switch to the shotgun before you have to reload.
7. Entering the final room, time and space a wall run on the right wall so that you'll drop off close to the middle just before the room opening. Drop off. Then jump to the corner and immediately again past the concave curve on the right. You dont want to be so high that you hit the upper wall or so low that you hit the ground. Going high will make the second target easier to miss.
8. If you are going to hit the ground at any point remember that you can "bunny hop" by hitting crouch before you land and jumping immediately after.

This Trophy requires patience, practice and persistence.

The goal is to complete the gauntlet in 33,65 seconds or less while hitting all 15 guys. For each guy you miss you get a 2 second penalty - so don't miss!

Basic loadout:

Primary: EVA-8 Auto - Less accuracy required
Secondary: Doesn't matter
Grenade: Arc Grenade - Splash damage and explode on impact

I recommend playing through the campaign on master (for the Trophy) to get used to controls and wall running before but it can be done whenever through Chapter Select after you've gone through the tutorial - although if you're good you can get it first time playing it already.

Before shooting the guys, learn to run the route flawlessly in the required time and then incorporate shooting and throwing grenades.

If you use the EVA-8 Auto you only have 1 extra shot before you can reload so go for 1 shot 1 kill to be safe.

The Training Gauntlet is pretty much the first thing you come to during the campaign (after some control calibration), however I would highly suggest not trying for this achievement before you do the rest of the campaign, unless you have been playing the MP or the first Titanfall very recently. After doing the campaign, you will feel much more comfortable with the controls and be able to pull off the runs, jumps, and slides required more easily. You will be tasked with running a training course in under 33.65 seconds for this achievement, and less than 56.65 seconds for "The Student..."

I tried many different ways of running the course as well as weapon loadouts, but the video below was the one that finally made the most sense to me. It only requires the shotgun, so there is no weapon switching like with the other method, and he slows things down and really explains when he is jumping, how long to stay in a wall run, and where to land. After trying the other methods for nearly two hours, I got the achievement after about ten minutes of trying this method.

Mission Select: The Pilot's Gauntlet - Gauntlet Practice Only

This trophy is without a doubt the hardest trophy in the entire game. It's so hard and skills dependent that most players will save this trophy for last. You're required to place in the top 3 on the Gauntlet scoreboard. The Gauntlet is Captain Lastimosa's training simulation where you can practice running the Pilot Gauntlet to improve your skills in the following two categories:

  1. Mobility Skills
    • Average Speed
    • Max Speed
    • High Speed Time
  2. Combat Skills
    • High Speed Kills

Speed in this game is measured by kph (kilometers per hour) and it's the key to keeping your mobility speed up. You're going to have to take everything that you've learned as you better bring your 'A' game to achieve a Gauntlet scoreboard less than 33.65 seconds. Achieving this top score will also unlock the The Student... trophy; however, The Student trophy is child's play and shouldn't really be your main concern. Just focus on topping the top 3 Pilots on the scoreboard.

First of all, you're going to need to learn how to complete the Gauntlet by wallrunning nearly the entire time. Sliding only when necessary and jumping from wall to wall to gain more speed. Memorize the Gauntlet's course so you know where and when to jump as timing your jumps is very crucial. With that in mind, you have to eliminate 15 enemies while you're running through the Gauntlet. This means you will need to memorize exactly where the enemies are positioned at. This is easy to do because they do not move and are always in the same exact locations. The downside to eliminating these 15 enemies is the fact that you cannot miss any one of them! Missing enemies will result in a time penalty of +0:02.00 seconds. Having 2 seconds added on to your time is something that you do not want to happen and it would suck very badly if you managed the top 3 scoreboard with a time of about 33.60 seconds, only to have the time penalty screw you over by making your score 35.60+ seconds.

Last of all, is Weapon Loadouts. I'm just going to keep this as simple as possible, and remember there is no right or correct way to obtain this trophy as it requires a lot of practice:

Basic Loadout - Nearly everybody uses this!

  • EVA-8 Auto - Fully automatic shotgun
  • Arc Grenades - Lethal "Flashbang"/"Stun" Grenade that can actually damage enemies
  • (The 3rd weapon can be anything, you won't be using it but most people keep the default pistol.)

The Basic Loadout is what you use if you're planning on using the Arc Grenades to get 9 kills while you using only the shotgun for the remaining 6 targets. Things to note about this loadout is that the first Arc Grenade must be used on the first 3 enemies, then the 1 enemy on the left of the slide, the 2 enemies to the right of the wall that you need jump and wallrun on and finally the final 3 enemies that are grouped together at the start of the hallway. Your shotgun comes with 8 rounds in a clip and you only need to shoot 6 enemies without reloading. You don't want to spray and pray, but you do have two extra shots if you do happen to miss a shot. Keep practicing this loadout and you should be getting better the more you practice with it.

Moderate Loadout - This loadout is for those who want explosive splash damage.

  • EPG - Single fire, direct energy propelled launcher
  • EVA-8 Auto - Fully automatic shotgun
  • Arc Grenades - Lethal "Flashbang"/"Stun" Grenade that can actually damage enemies

This loadout is more for high-powered explosive damage. Read the Basic Loadout for the 9 enemies that you need to Arc Grenade. You're going to be using the EPG mainly for the enemies that are in the hallway. The EPG has 5 rounds that act like an RPG. Shot near the enemies' feet or wall near them and they will get eliminated instantly! When you make it out of the hallway, press to switch to the EVA-8 Auto fully automatic shotgun. Use the shotgun to kill the final two enemies. This loadout might take you more time to master than the basic loadout.

Advanced Loadout - This is for highly skilled players with great speed and accuracy!

  • R-201 - Full-auto and high accuracy.
  • EVA-8 Auto - Fully automatic shotgun
  • Arc Grenades - Lethal "Flashbang"/"Stun" Grenade that can actually damage enemies

This loadout is very skilled dependent due to the precise accuracy that you're going to need. It's possible to complete the complete the Gauntlet with only the use of the R-201. In order to do that, you're going to have to learn to burst fire while your wallrunning, jumping, and sliding without ever missing a single shot. That is a very difficult task to master and one that I don't even bother you trying. The shotgun is only there if you missed your burst shots. You still need to Arc Grenade targets but if you're skilled, then you should only need to Arc Grenade 6 targets instead of 9. Everything else you need to shoot while maintaining your speed.

Below are a couple of tips and suggestions:

  1. Increase your speed by chaining together wallruns, double jumps, slides, and other mobility moves.
  2. Stay on the wall panels as they can keep your speed up.
  3. You need wallrun effectively on curved surfaces.
  4. You cannot wallrun for long, so jump to another wall to keep your speed going.
  5. Time your wallruns and double jumps carefully for maximum speed.
  6. Try sliding off the edges of platforms to gain more speed.
  7. At the start of the Gauntlet, wallrun on the left wall in order to gain speed momentum before actually entering the Gauntlet Practice course.
  8. Try to maintain 30-40+ khp as much as you can. The maximum kph is 50 which is the top speed you can achieve.
  9. Carefully throw your grenades to eliminate multiple targets.
  10. "Cook" Arc Grenades before throwing them can cause them to detonate at just the right time, but if they detonate in mid-air. They will not eliminate your targets.
  11. Eliminate your targets without stopping or causing yourself to get hurt by your own thrown Arc Grenade.
  12. Sometimes switching to another weapon is faster than reloading.
  13. Try different loadouts to optimize your run and scoreboard times, by switching between weapons that are effective at different ranges.
  14. Memorize the entire course from when to wallrun, double jump, slide, Arc Grenade and shoot.
  15. Try watching different videos of other players who have gotten the trophy. You could learn something from them or adjust your methods.
  16. Look at the areas you're wasting a lot of time in. Usually, it's the first part of the Gauntlet, the hallway, or entering the final room.
  17. If your slide underneath the slide-door beyond 10+ seconds, you might want to restart and past the slide-door under 10.00 seconds.
  18. Try to keep up with the Ghost as this Ghost is one of the top 3 Pilots that you are trying to beat. If the Ghost is way ahead of you, it's best to restart.
  19. Double jump or slide into the finishing goal when you're in range to finish as this can save time.
  20. Last of all, keep practicing. Spend about 1-6 hours a day practicing if you have to. You won't get this trophy without at least putting some time and effort into it. It sucks and it's not easy, but do not give up! Keep at it and it will eventually happen for you.

set the control to the jumper pilot, there will be a jump on , it will take about 20 minutes to get used to it, it will be more convenient to shoot, because when aiming you won’t have to remove your finger from the stick while jumping, of which you will have to do a lot

It helped a lot, I saw the tactics of passing in detail. We put the jump on , take a shotgun and an arc grenade.

The main thing is not to forget to set “Autorun” in the settings.
You will immediately feel the difference.

I also recommend that you first practice running without shooting for a result of about 30 seconds. Then it will be easier. Also keep in mind that in flight the speed is 20-30% higher, so use surfaces only to push off from them. After an hour of training, it is quite possible to get a trophy.

Here is a good video, following approximately how HERE (click me) I was able to knock it out on the fifth attempt, although before that it took me an hour. The point is that when you jump in the center along a narrow passage, try to gain height (while doing a double jump as often as possible), this will help you a lot in the final. And at the very beginning, of course, you start from the left wall, and also jump from it exactly at the moment when the angle is most convenient for achieving maximum speed

Important! The speed directly depends on your previous record, so even if you can’t keep up with the ghost, record the result and try to improve your time, don’t try to immediately run to 33, you won’t succeed, no matter how well you run! Because of this, I sat at 35.40 all day, because I restarted every time before reaching the finish line, when I still didn’t know this trick. Until the time is less than 35, it will be difficult to perfectly repeat the trajectories from the video (I couldn’t fly to the corner from which you need to jump onto the right wall in the last hall, so I went through the left one until I improved to 34.20)

PS4 pro owners! To make it easier for yourself to pass this test, disable all boosters in the form of supersampling mode and forced mode in the console settings, as they somehow slow down the game! I myself spent enough time on this test, as soon as I turned it off I passed it once from the 5th-6th Video example, maybe it will help someone: https://youtu.be/DkKnhkFQR3o .

Don't neglect the advice to use a field of view of 110 - it helped a lot.

And I advise you to set the grenade throw to L1 and that’s it. Leave the jump. Well, we have the maximum review. I did it in an hour of training. It’s just that I’ve been pressing the cross to jump for more than 5 years. And it was a pain when I changed to L1. It was easier to get used to the grenade.

To get through this obstacle course, I used all possible tips, namely:

1) Adjust the controls to suit you, I did this: - jump, - this is a grenade, - crouch, shoot and aim as standard. You don't need anything else;
2) Made the maximum viewing angle;
3) Disable boost mode on PS4 Pro;
4) Used a shotgun and a secret weapon (he showed where to get it in the video);
5) Use autorun.

I recommend running with a jump on the stick, not only do you always control your run, since you don’t have to move your finger to the circle, unlike other layouts it’s more convenient to get used to. (Unlike jumping on r1/l1)

It took me a long time to knock him out. My mistake was that I wanted to repeat the movements from the video, but I should have jumped from wall to wall more often and tried to outrun the shadow and at the same time kill all the targets. Yes, the videos give an approximate path, but the path itself is different for everyone, I did it with a blaster that is taken at the shooting range. The main thing is to “slip” faster than the shadow after the first “arena”, but if you are still a little behind, jump more from wall to wall, try to overtake the shadow and at the same time shoot at all the targets. even if at the end the shadow slips in front of you to the finish line for a split second, you will still win, the shadow flies to the finish line at about 32:20. that is, you still have a little more than a second left

1. The whole game, for some reason, I thought that in order to run along the wall you need to hold down the jump, but you don’t need to hold it down, the main thing is to press it once and it will run along the wall itself, the main thing is to adjust the direction with the stick. You will be much more comfortable shooting and throwing grenades in this situation.
2. I still advise you to get used to jumping to L1. There will be more hours of torment and opportunities to throw grenades freely.
3. Also train in the air to radically change direction through a jump; this will come in handy at the finish.
4. Don't completely follow the advice from the video. You can use the video from PS4Trophies as a basis. But don’t copy all his movements, the main thing is to overtake the ghost, who is before the prize time, at least for the first half of the track. I’ll tell you a secret, at the finish line he will blunt just before the door, he doesn’t seem to fly into it, he misses, and then through a double jump he hits on the second try, so it’s not scary if he slightly overtakes you at the finish line. But in general, try to make the movements comfortable for you. For example, in the video the first jump, where you need to throw a grenade to kill three people, turns out to be too ideally long, you will suffer longer to repeat it. I ran around the wall on the right at the same time. His finishing is also too complicated. I killed the last two in flight and landed on the stairs, and then I jumped onto the wall on the right and it’s easier to jump from there to the finish line. It was more convenient for me, and in 31 seconds it almost happened. Find your way. I tried for a long time to do it like him, it turned out to be 1/10, until I started thinking about how it would be easier. Here is a long run along the walls before the final location, I advise you to completely learn it. Everything there is calculated down to the millimeter.
5. To make it easier, you can take an RPG. On the shooting range from the outside, the very top.
https://youtu.be/a5K5eaNQzfg
6. Try not to take too high trajectories; it is better to calculate the optimal one.

In the settings it was set to Autorun (pilot) and jump to X (I didn’t change it to l1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH8UKzvq1UY The trophy can be given 10/10 for difficulty.
