How to unlock the Hot Mess achievement in Titanfall 2 - Definitive Guide
Kane is a Titan pilot who uses the Scorch Titan, this means he does have a shield but it will not reflect back at you. Watch out for his fire, obviously, the Scorch Titan releases flammable gas making his area of effect wider. Fortunately, his main weapon is one-shot before it needs to reload, so you have time to back off.
I recommend using the Tone Titan as you'll be able to make significant use of the lock-on feature due to the terrain. He'll start a fair distance away from you, and drop in another enemy Titan nearby. Take that out first to help build up your Titan core, and then put up your particle wall. Try and keep Kane inside the raised, circular structure, as it has a lot of barriers around the side that are good for cover. Pepper him with shots and duck behind one of the barriers to avoid his attacks and recover your shields. When your salvo is ready, get out of cover, put up your particle wall, and lock on, releasing your rocket salvo and just annihilate him with rockets.
As a boss titan he'll still need a lot more damage to take out, but I was able to destroy him using two salvos on Master difficulty, along with my rockets and cannon fire. If you get damaged, the previous enemy Titan has a battery and there's at least one back near where Kane started, so you should be able to heal up some. The chapter ends after this so it doesn't matter if you end the battle with low health, but I don't recommend getting in to try and get some melee hits, stay far back and use your weapons.
Firstly defeat the other Titan as quickly as you can by setting up your shield and firing into it as much as possible. This gets him out of the way so you can take on Kane. This video starts just as I have done this. The trick is to avoid getting hit. It sounds obvious but a few direct hits will take your health right down. Note where the green energy cells are for when you need them. As soon as your Salvo Core is ready pick your moment and make sure you get a direct hit. Don't save it too long as you should get your Core back again before the fight is over. Dodge around the walls to avoid being hit. Use your Sonar so you can see which way Kane is going. Use your Primary and Secondary weapon while you are protected by your shield and avoid Kane for the rest of the time. When your Core is ready again pick your moment and try to get a direct hit. At this point if you haven't defeated Kane you are not far off.
Story related, cannot be missed.
Cooper's Logbook:
This Titan, BT-7274, says I'm his Acting Pilot. Whether I'm ready or not, I have to make this work -- or I'm dead. My only chance of survival is to uphold Lastimosa's original mission. That means rendezvousing with his commanding officer; Major Anderson of the Militia's Special Recon Squadron (SRS). Another 60 klicks to go.

Defeating Kane:
To defeat Kane who pilots the Scorch Titan Loadout, it's highly recommended that you use the Tone Titan Loadout. Kane is not fighting alone as he has one minion (a Brute Titan) with him. The minion is just a standard Titan and can be defeated very easily, so killing Kane's minion first should be your top priority at the start of the battle. Once the minion is defeated, focus your attention on Kane himself and you'll notice that he has a shield. This shield must be destroyed first before Kane's Titan can take any damage. His shield will regenerate after certain about of time have passed. Whenever the shields are down, you need to keep assaulting him as much as possible such as pressing to use your Tracking Rockets. Save your Titan Core Ability (Salvo Core) whenever the shield goes down to do the maximum amount of damage with it. Always keep your distance while you're taking down his shields. If you're sustaining too much damage, try using the pillars in the room to avoid the gunfire or pressing to use the Particle Wall as a force field to block any incoming bullets.
