This is story related and can't be missed... unless you did the glitch that allows you to skip the part where Ash puts you in a simulation firefight, like I did(or an exception such as the comment below).
At the end of chapter 2 of mission 4: Into The Abyss, you get lifted up on a giant platform and Ash begins creating a simulation around you. At this point, you can jump onto a ledge on the side of the simulation which will allow you to completely skip this fight(helpful on master difficulty, but not for getting this achievement) or stick it out and fight. After you defeat the reapers the achievement will pop.
As I had a bit of a tough time figuring out why I hadn't gotten this achievement, I figured someone else might have found themselves in the same fix and find this useful.

This is NOT a story related achievement and CAN be missed. I missed it first time through the campaign because I had no ammo to kill them on Master difficulty.
As it turns out I never knew about the glitch you speak of, all I did was run laps around the map and eventually the door in the dome would open and you can cloak past the enemies without killing anything.

If you are like me, and are going through your first run on Master Difficulty, then this can be a pain.
HOWEVER, there is an easy solution for taking care of the reapers WITHOUT glitching the game.
On the very first platform is a building. Inside the building is an L-Star submachine gun. That thing will rip the reapers apart insanely fast, even on Master Difficulty. So if you are like me, and struggled to survive with the Spitfire and the DMR, get to the building, trade the Spitfire out for the L-Star, and cut through the reapers like it is easy mode

I also found that gun to be very effective against these guys. I did get lucky, though. When the first enemy exploded, the resulting inferno took the second one out as well.
