Video: A nice little video to show a good map to play for wallrunning, and how useful going towards this achievement can get you some nice kills. All thanks to PrimaGamesVideo.
I found a staircase in one corner of the map, and from the top you can get from one side of the map to the next all by wallrunning between the high walls.
Nobody will ever shoot you up there and you will have this achievement in no time.
you can propably get 1 kilometer or more per campaign round
not my video, but you get the idea :)
You can almost constantly wallrun on the upper levels of the map "Rise" and anytime you fall down there are quite a few convenient ziplines to drag you back up. (Also a very good way of transporting the flag in CTF)
The achievement unlocks at the end of a match.
To check your progress, go into the achievement app. Click on the achievement. It will show you 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, or 80%.
Multiply 5 by the decimal version of the percentage, then subtract the answer from 5 to get your required kilometers left
If it says 40%, I will do the following:
Total of 5 kilometers. You have made 40% of the progress towards the achievement.
5 x 0.4
= 2
40% of 5 is 2. You have run 2 kilometers
5 - 2
= 3
You need to run 3 more kilometers to get the achievement
Then, if you are also paying attention to the Ninja Warrior Challenge (to get to it, go to Challenges > Distance > Ninja Warrior) you can see it in smaller increments. Like 2.5, 3.84, etc... This will reset when you Regen though, but you can write it down to keep track, as the achievement app only shows progress in 1 kilometer increments.
Equipping yourself with the Tactical Ability: STIM, is helpful because it boosts movement speed and health for a short time and allows you to cover a greater distance in the same amount of time.
Also, using the Tier 1 kit: Enhanced Parkour Kit allows wallrunning and wallhanging for increased periods of time.
Try to wallrun as much as you can, because it also allows you to move faster. This is particularly useful in boosting sessions where you need to meet your partner for kill trading. Also, during the quit out method for boosting wins, if 2 people are going for MVP, and you are on the winning team, you can take the time to wallrun so that you will not time out, and gain progress towards this achievement.
I personally like to run around on Training Ground for this during boosting sessions, but I really do not feel the need to boost this achievement.
I have included a video of me wallrunning. I did it in training, and I was messing around with inverted controls and I was trying to wallhang as well (Hold LT while wallrunning and you will hang on the wall forever until you let go for LT). As you see... inverted controls are the worst thing ever... Especially on the first 10 minutes of you playing this game and playing on the Xbox One.
According to Le Lone Wolf, some good spots include:
Smugglers cove (In domination it is right near point A) there is a nice long wall to run back and fourth on!
Also try point B in Corporate. Just wallrun in the circle (well, rectangle) (Thanks ShaMorg!)
According to Resident Jesus, another good spot includes:
You can almost constantly wallrun on the upper levels of the map "Rise" and anytime you fall down there are quite a few convenient ziplines to drag you back up. (Also a very good way of transporting the flag in CTF)
One of the key mechanics of Titanfall is the emphasis on parkour and verticality. Your Pilot is equipped with a jump kit that enables higher, longer and faster jumps than ordinary people, but it can also be used to enable you to run along a vertical surface for a limited time. In practice, this is a great way to move even faster through maps as the jump kit boosts your speed up to hold you on the wall. As such, a good practice is to wall run at every opportunity, and doing so will unlock this achievement quite early in the game.
This metric is tracked both within each single generation for challenge purposes, and across all generations for the point of this achievement. You can track your progress by choosing Personal Stats -> Distance in the game.
