How to unlock the High Roller achievement in Titanfall - Definitive Guide

As the achievement description states, you need to earn 500,000 Black Market Credits to unlock this achievement. You can earn credits multiple ways, including:

* completing matches
* winning matches, including a boost for your first win of the day
* selling/discarding Burn Cards
* completing daily challenges
* earning XP after reaching level 50

This achievement is not retroactive and is cumulative from the moment you download Title Update #8. For example, my current status on the achievement tracker for this achievement equals my current credit count (about 29,000 credits as I write this), despite the fact that I've already earned several hundred thousand credits to buy the different Titan insignias from the Market over the past couple of months. Spending credits will not count against your cumulative total (thanks to TrueKill360 for confirming).

If you have additional information that should be included in this solution, please let me know in the comments.

For some reason I thought it would take 1000+ matches to reach Gen 10. Interesting.

As an aside, I do find it interesting that this whole thing is built off a mechanic that wasn't even in the game at launch. I guess it might have been in Respawn's original plans and just didn't make the ship date, but still the first batch of players had no clue this was coming. I like how the game's evolved over the past 6 months; I appreciate Respawn's commitment past the third map pack.

Because I like stats, here are some more. The Black Market update rolled out at the end of July and its almost the end of October now. Let's just say 90 days, give or take, that players have been able to actually earn credits. For a full 500,000 credits, at 500 credits per match, that's 1000 matches played. You need to have played more than 10 matches a day, every day, between the update and now to get this achievement. That's nuts!

Spending credits will not go against you, The achievement status of my credit achievement keeps increasing eventhough I keep spending. I have 6000cr at the moment but 15% complete so far

I'm so glad I had 300.000 credits! This is so freaking slow... Don't know why they made every achievement retroactive except this one. If they didn't have the full info of how much you spent, they could at least have added the ammount spent on insignias...

You earn so little per game, it's nuts. I've found Frontier Defense to be the best, I usually earn between 2500-3000 credits but that's still a lot of games.

Its retarded.. decreasing the amount of credits you get from your XP over max from 10 to 1%, Penalizing everyone who already spent credits pre update by not including it all in money earned already..
I put my time in getting GEN10, I ignored daily challenges and bought random crap from black market preupdate..
Now I need another 300-400 matches to complete this game... again angry

I'm now at 40% which should mean 300k to go.. Not a bad run tonight (3 hours) earning about 20k Still a grind to go, I have now earned about 175k since the update launched, just wished I never spent the 120k I had in the bank pre update cry

Each evening after work I can usually punch out about 20,000 credits after a few hours of Frontier Defense, knocking out the dailies, and sell every burn card I earn. Considering I had 0 credits and 10 dailies at the update, I estimate that this will take about 1 month of playing Titanfall everyday.

it ends up being a little less when you include daily challenges and daily 1000 match win bonus, plus selling every burn card you acquire will also cut down on this,, I have been making about 7500 bucks a day just selling burn cards

@Gravedigga63 - I get your frustration but Respawn is not forcing us to play the game - that's just our achievement hunting OCD kicking in. I'm still enjoying Titanfall and I have 100+ hours logged in the game already. I don't play it constantly but I like having long-term goals I'm working towards. Yeah some of these new achievements are pretty grindy but I'm not at Gen 10 yet so I'm ok with that. For those of you with Gen 10, I can understand why these would be more annoying.

At the end of the day, free content is free and I can't see how that's a bad thing. The new modes and features that have already been added and that are getting integrated in over the holidays are pretty neat. Frontier Defense especially introduces a ton of new elements to the game that really make it feel fresh. Titanfall is much better than it was at launch and I'm happy Respawn is dedicated to supporting the game; that's what I want game studios to do! If the current state of the game is any indication, Titanfall 2 will be awesome.

I only dislike how unfair it is for gen10s, it's faster to get to high roller if you're not a gen10. Also figure this out, a gen10 winning frontier defense games will not accumulate wins to the "all I do is win" challenge, but a gen8 does??

A way that I have found to help boost this is to help the other achievement (buy 100 items from the black market) just simply buy anything under 1k credits (or any so long as they are under 1.5k if you have a decent amount of credits). Then simply resell, you will take a loss but I can get 7-8 towards the buying and usually only loose about 4k. Cards only resell for 100 or 400 for rare. At this time I don't know how much the "Roll the Dice" permanent card resells for, but is usually 40-60k just to buy.

in your credits breakdown in the end of match summary it shows you a max level xp to credits conversion. (You may have to be a gen10 as well) <-- not 100% sure.

This achievement is designed only as a means to force you to play titanfall. I had lots of fun for the first few months past launch, but after about the 3rd DLC I was hating the game because it was just a huge annoyance to come back to an honestly mediocre game and grind some more achievements. I was so happy when I finished the 3rd DLC and had every achievement, and then this crap comes! Its not even a DLC for christ's sake, it is a free update that forces achievements no one has any desire to do down your throat, and because respawn knows if you've already come this far, there's no way you're going to abandon titanfall without the 2000 GS, you're forced to play a ridiculous number of games and drive yourself insane. There's nothing worse then finishing a game only to discover a new DLC (or god damn title update in this case) with achievements, especially when they are basically middle fingers to the people who have already put countless hours into the game because of their difficulty or amount of time required.

The above methods are perfectly fine for earning credits, but I wanted to share one more thing you can do to help the process along.

If you are at the point where you only need this achievement, or any point where you don't care about wasting your credits, you can buy burn cards from the Daily Deals (cheapest cards) and sell them back for credits. I've tested this to make sure it works.

Also you do NOT need to have 500,000 credits at one time. So as long as you are gaining credits from one of the above methods or any other method, you can buy and sell cards on top of that.

Just found a very easy way to grind this and require hardly any effort. Any time you finish a match. You receive 500 credits for completion.

What my friends and I just started doing is loading up a private Frontier Defense game on the map Rise. You only have 2 waves and one retry on this particular map.

The first wave is always 2 sniper spectres. Kill them and proceed to wave 2. Just AFK this wave and let the harvester be destroyed. It will retry the wave and once again, do the same thing.

The mission will fail and back out of the game. You will receive 500 credits for completion and 70 for miscellaneous.

This takes roughly 4 minutes each time. I was averaging 1300-1600 for multiplayer matches and regular defense games which can last very long.

As I said. Very easy and effortless. Happy grinding! Still finishing mine now.

UPDATE: If you want to make this more effective, kill as many of the grunts as possible immediately after they destroy the harvester. Do this both times of wave 2. After doing this I've been getting about 1,050 credits. This is equal to nearly 2 runs.

Ehrenfriend - you cant downgrade a vote if you have a solution up.
This method is actually faster than yours.
Yours takes 15mins for around 2000 points, this method takes 4-5minutes for 1100.
3x1100 = 3300 vs your 2000 in the same amount of time. The 4-5 mins was initial search, placing arc mines in 1 spot, moving back and having the 2 spectres die instantly.

Someone else suggested that LTS is faster.. 1 v 1 = 776 for loser but takes longer as well. Having a full team vs full team can net you 1200-3000, but you have to complete this fast with a great team quickest game for me has been 8-10 mins(this includes search and 4 rounds only... 5+ rounds makes this ineffective as well.

Im still testing out other ways, but this definitely is the faster (but boring as hell)
i also do dailies/challenges as much as possible.

Sorry to spam the feed, but this also can help knock out dailies (maybe, depending), as Round 2 has +200 enemies, so you can easily kill enemies/titans with particular weapons without having to worry about Pilots interfering. Do take note of the increased dmg caused by the AI, however.

Correction: averaging between 1,000 and 1,100 per match but it's still pretty good considering it's only 5 minutes. My average match of CTF is usually 3-4x as long. I suppose you could boost LTS if your teams just auto-ejected at the start, but this solution is solo-able.

I recommend using the Arc Grenades and right before they destroy the harvester, just toss one opposite either end and you'll get a quick 17-20 kills and then can clean a few more up before the round/match ends.

I found a nice way to rank up some credits the following way:

Find 3 other players, good players at Frontier defense, maybe some people who want to boost the same or different and then do the following:

Choose a weapon you normally don't play (Titan weapon, Pistol and a main weapon)
Then choose Frontier Defense and the map "Outlook" which is the easiest one to get 3 stars.
The waves are easy and you can finish the map in around 15 min.
You'll get around 2000 credits and additional credits for completing challenges for the weapons.

Additional info:

Not only the map "OVERlook" is best, "Smuggler's Cove" is also an easy map.
You can rank up around 2500 doing this and when you use a titan weapon you normally don't use for Frontier Defense because it sucks in this mode (Railgun, 40mm) and complete all the challenges you can get more credits for the earned points.

You can boost almost everything for the weapons, except pilot kills in Frontier Defense
and eventually you also get some other achievements.

I managed to get around 170k towards "High Roller" which makes it around 70 matches.
And i only played OVERlook with my friends, after a few matches you'll know where and when the enemies drop which makes it more and more easier.

You need to earn 500,000 Black Market Credits post the release date of Title Update #8, which was at the end of October, 2014. You do not need to have 500,000 stored up, merely have earned them along the way.

Black Market Credits are earned by completing certain challenges, winning games, completing games, discarding unwanted Burn Cards, and when at Level 50, a portion of your total XP earned in every match is also converted to Black Market Credits.

This achievement will unlock naturally along your journey to Gen 10, so there is no need to focus on any particular activity to expedite the unlocking of this achievement.
