Click on the Loadout you want to rename then it should unlock without having to put anything as it's name.

hope this helps anyone who is struggling although you shouldn't be :)

Hell, I didn't even CLICK the loadout name, I just scrolled over it and the achievement popped without me realizing there was one at all

At level 5 in each generation you have the ability to create custom Pilot loadouts. The bottom option when doing so is to give it a customized name. This achievement will unlock after successfully editing that field with any value.
