How to unlock the Stay Gold achievement in Titanfall - Definitive Guide

Please refer to
TitanfallGoing ProThe Going Pro achievement in Titanfall worth 17 pointsPlay a ranked match
to see how to join ranked play.

When you play with your rank chip on, you earn battlemarks. The way to earn battlemarks is listed on the Ranked Play page, but essentially involves doing whatever objective the gametype entails. Any deaths will detract from the score to earn battlemarks. As noted in the other guide, unless there are enough players in the lobby the chip isn't activated. I haven't played in a long time, so I'm not sure how many are actually required.

Deaths barely detract at all, so I'd say just play your best gametype and you'll earn this in no time.

Last Titan Standing may be the easiest gametype as the only thing relevent to battlemarks is doing damage to the enemy titans. As far as the list says, deaths don't matter, but I'm not sure if that's true.
You can earn up to 5 marks a game.
Since each Bronze rank requires 5 marks, and each Silver rank requires 6, you will have this by the time you are Gold.

As Foxy noted in the comments, once you have locked in a mark (IE there is a green symbol in the bottom left of the screen) you can not lose that mark, but you can lose progress towards the next mark.

Credit to dc0dr - You don't need to earn 50 in 1 'season', you just need to earn 50 total.

UPDATE - Battlemark loss now works slightly different. I don't think losing a battlemark subtracts from the achievement but figured I'd mention it.

As of November 6th - If you earn 75% of a battlemark, you won't lose a battlemark when the game ends.
As a result, however, they've made it so battlemarks don't crack anymore. So if you don't get at least 75% of a battlemark, you'll lose one. Since you only need 50 marks this shouldn't be a problem.

I think it should be noted once your marks lock in for a match you don't lose them, you only lose progress towards the next mark

Can anyone confirm whether or not ranked play will be going public eventually, I know that right now only gen 10's get access, but I want to know that if everyone else will eventually be able to play, I'd rather not beg for an invite or grind to gen 10 for these achievements if I can help it.

I would assume so and I'll change the guide to reflect that if that does happen.

The beta ends at the end of November. I would assume it would go public shortly after that.

CTF also works great . Throw some arc mines on your flag and then camp defense and clean up. You get just as many points for kills and flag returns as you do capturing the flag. Takes very little effort..

Just want to add the achievement is cumlative. So when your rank resets after the beta or after each 'season' you will not loose your progress on the achievement.

Some achievements just show your max progress though so that may not be true. I'd lean towards you being right since it just says earn 50, but since its called stay golden, and 50 is about what you need for Gold I'm not sure.

I had fifteen before the end of the beta, I played three 'ranked' games after the season ended and the counter has gone up to 30. So it is tested.

I seem to have encountered a bug and can't obtain any more battlemarks. My green bar only fills a quarter of the way each game before stopping, even though I hear "nice work, you've moved up a rank" five times per game. Any suggestions? I'm only silver rank 2.

Last round I earned five quickly, then I randomly lost three before the round ended and finished with two. I think it's a bit glitchy atm.

Just to clarity some confusion: there needs to be a minimum of 6 players who have reached at least level 32 in Gen1 to activate the ranked chip. A player who has not yet made it to lvl 32 will not count towards the 6 and will not earn battlemarks. A player who is Gen2, lvl1, though, will.

=> I can confirm lost Battlemarks don't "substract" from the achievement. I've won 48 marks atm, achievement progression shows 96% even if I'm only at the "Silver 2" rank, which is between 30-35 cumulated marks.

Once you reach level 32 in Gen 1, you will receive a notice at the bottom of the left hand menu that you have a message. When you read the message, it unlocks the ability to use your rank chip. This does not change game play in any way other than providing an extra reward (Battlemarks) for good performance in matches with at least three other players also with active rank chips. When you play games with three or more other players with active rank chips, you will earn Battlemarks for performing actions that positively contribute to your team score, and potentially lose Battlemarks for not contributing and dying.

Every month starts a new season, and a portion of your Battlemarks are removed. The requirement of earning 50 Battlemarks is a cumulative total, so even if you lose some from poor performance or the start of a new season, this achievement will unlock after your 50th Battlemark earned. You do not need to have 50 Battlemarks at any given time to unlock this achievement.

The Campaign and Attrition playlists are the best places to find other players with active rank chips.

Once you have been given an invitation to a ranked game, you will earn tags for completing tasks. You can earn a maximum of 5 tags per match. If you play poorly and don’t achieve your goals, then on the contrary, the mark will be removed from you. But this will not affect the achievement, if you earned a mark and then it was removed from you, then it will already count towards you anyway.
