How to unlock the State of the Union achievement in Tom Clancy's The Division 2 - Definitive Guide
Story related and can't be missed.
Complete the 3rd stronghold for the trophy. This is the last stronghold (post endgame) which is only unlocked after completing the first 2 (District union, Roosevelt Island).
Missions and strongholds are very similar. Linear driven with constant battles as you progress through. Strongholds are longer, have more purple/yellow bar enemies and bigger end boss scenes. They are not harder than missions and are all easily done solo. By the time you reach the strongholds you want to be approaching level 30 which you shouldn't be far off.
Tips:
- Use the environment - Scattered across the map and missions are red containers. Shooting these near an enemy will cause them to set alight and will provide a clear shot to finish them off.
- Mounted machine guns - There are mounted machine guns on the enemies side in some fights, these can be very dangerous and finish you off quickly so attack these first and in some occasions use them for your advantage.
- Coloured bars - Purples and Yellows. These pack a punch and can cause an issue 1v1. They can also have a range of special abilities (machines, drones) and more armour too. Focus on these one at a time and look out for any rushing at you or flanking you from the sides or behind.
- Use Grenades - Normal grenades are great, if you sneak up on a group of enemies you can really make an impact with a well places grenade. Flash grenades are also great, they blind the enemy allowing for you to attack with no return fire.
- Tanks - Yellow bars have a lot of armour but tanks have loads. They either carry Grenade Launchers, Miniguns or Sledge Hammers. Keep cover and free aim over it, concentrate on one piece of armour because as soon as it breaks you can get their health bar down fast. See Undressed to kill.
- Don't rush - The Division 2 is very much a tactical cover shooter. Rushing in will without doubt not work. Cover and shoot.
- Skills - There is a great selection of skills to unlock and use. Play around with them, try different combinations and find out what's best for your style of play.
- Matchmaking - Whether you like to play alone or not, division 2 is made a whole lot easier with a team. Before starting a mission or after selecting it, matchmake. High chances are you will get an invite into an already started mission. If you want to be admin, simple start your own mission and put out a call for help.
- Checkpoints - There are checkpoints through the missions and strongholds so if you die or fail it won't matter to much. If you are struggling at any point, put out a call for help.
- Loot - Loot everything, you will have plenty of ammo boxes along the mission route but they will not fully restore your grenades and armour replenish. Looting other boxes will randomly drop these (along with enemies) so explore a lot and pick up some good loot along with it.
- Your armour - Maintain this, always keep an eye on it as it will not replenish during a fight. It will however, fully restore after one. Once it depletes your health will not last long so get into cover and restore your armour.
- Weapons - There is a wide range of weapons. Keep hold of the best or each type as they all have advantages against certain enemies.
-- LMGs are great against Tanks, they have high ammo clips and deal fast heavy damage to tear off their armour.
-- Assault Rifles work well against any enemy but they are more effective against red and purple bars due to their rapid fire and quick reloading. One clip can easily kill one purple bar or two red.
-- Shotguns are effective against any rushing character, high impact will stop them in their tracks and kill them in a few hits.
-- Rifles deal large damage, normally single shot with a timely reload between each. A great long range finisher for those more sneaky enemies.
- Your equipment - Might seem obvious but if you are in the zone with the fights etc you might forget to change your gear. After each mission, I would focus on control points and side missions to earn better gear as well as what you drop in them.
Complete the mission 'Capitol Building'.
