This achievement didn't unlock for me on my first play through. I finished the rest of the achievements and circled back to it. I started a new game, completed the first and second tombs, and it still didn't pop. I deleted my saved data and uninstalled the game (uninstalling probably wasn't necessary). When I fired up the game, I wouldn't let it sync my data from the cloud (took a few tries, I had to be quick). Then this achievement to pop on the first tomb as it should have. Finally done :)

To add to this, I had the same issue where I had to wipe my data, however I ended up doing it twice, and the second time, I dropped the difficulty to normal. Is there a chance that this achievement is broken specifically if you're playing in hard?

This is very easy and all tombs are optional (not achievement-wise). There are 7 Tombs and after finishing your all 7 you'll also get

Tomb Raider: Definitive EditionIntellectually SuperiorThe Intellectually Superior achievement in Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition worth 84 pointsComplete all optional tombs.


I completed all of them and made videos (on XBox One not PS4 warning )

The very first tomb. As soon as we got the “ Ice pick ” we go up, we see marks with white paint on the right at the waterfall; in fact, the waterfall itself is the entrance to the tomb.

Hint from XAXOL : Not correct....The first tomb, almost at the very beginning in the forest ...where we collect spare parts for the "PICK" to open the passage, the wall, where the wolves will attack us for the first time...and in this tomb needs to solve a puzzle with a crashed plane... which is stuck in the trees near the swamp... you need to make the tail of the plane lift up, turn over... and only after that you will climb up and get the first treasure from the tomb. And only after this chapter we will get an ice ax ... to climb the walls!
