How to unlock the Down and Dirty achievement in Tomb Raider - Definitive Guide

I found the best way to do this was once you unlock the rope arrows. I found that if you shoot an enemy with the rope arrow by pressing RB and pull them towards you it will prompt you to press Y to perform a finish. Im not sure if this always works or what but please corrrect me if im wrong.

Please note this is my very first guide so it may not be the best of quality but i really hope this helps some people out! Let me know how i can improve my guide! Good luck!

Stealth takedowns, (Y) when close to someone also count towards this achievement! Normally, you will get this during your normal playthrough.
Awesome game! Have fun all!

I used a quick and easy way to get this using a pistol.
I pulled out the pistol and shot them a couple times in the leg. Once they fall to the ground you are able to "finish" them by pressing cn_Y

I just thought I would add this in case anyone was really bad with the rope arrows like I was. Hope it helps!

A finisher is performed when an enemy gets injured and is briefly on the ground on one knee. The injury can be caused by shooting a non-head shot or by attacking with the axe  when you obtain it after upgrading your skills to Tier 2. This also happens if you stab them in the knee with your arrow (a countering skill). Once the enemy is down, go up quickly and press the prompt which is  to perform a finisher. If you want, you can easily just stack this with countering since there is an achievement for getting 25 counters. Just counter and they will be on the ground and you can finish them. You will likely get this achievement before unlocking the skills that let you counter with the various weapons.

Note: This must be done to different enemies. You cannot repeat this over and over again on the same enemy.

When you damage enemies enough, usually by shooting them in the legs, they will go down on their knees and a prompt will appear on them. You will have a chance to perform a finisher when that happens. Quickly go next to them and perform the finisher or they might get back up. It is even easier to incapacitate enemies with Tier II Brawler skill Dodge Counter and finish them then. It will also count for the Former Adventurer trophy.

One thing you should be careful about is whether the enemy has any protective headgear or not. If they do, your first finisher strike will break the headgear, not killing the enemy. You'll need to perform another finisher to kill them. You can also destroy the headgear beforehand using a weapon.

Towards the end, you can learn Lara’s highest tier Expert skills, which will grant you extra experience when you finish enemies with the specified weapon. This is a very good way to earn extra experience and also works for this trophy.

First, we shoot the enemy in the leg with a bow, then when the shard icon appears, go and click
