I also made an all-on-one video guide that includes all 13 challenges in the game:

All of these challenges can be completed before finishing the story, but there will be certain challenges which will require you to advance further into the story in order to complete them. You will also need the appropriate bow upgrades in order to access some of the areas in the game.

A benefit for finishing all of the challenges before finishing the game would be that you will be rewarded with bonus XP, which in the long run will allow you to upgrades your weapons more quickly.

You can view your challenge progress by pulling up your map. It'll be displayed on the right alongside your other statistics in that area.

Many people have not been able to unlock the achievement due to being stuck at 99% completion progress. If you're one of those select few, I would suggest making your way back to the "Cliffside Bunker" area where the Previous Inhabitants challenge is held (You can get to this area from Shipwreck Beach). Note that you cannot fast travel here, so this could be why you're missing something important in this area. Many people are missing the treasure map that can be found in this location. There should be a day camp there as well.

can you go back to these at any point? i haven't completed the game yet but is there a chance to free roam the island after the story has been completed?

Yeah, collectibles and challenges can both be completed after you've completed the story.

You can view your challenge progress by pulling up your map. It'll be displayed on the right alongside your other statistics in that area.

I have 100% on all areas of the map, but still showing as 99% complete total and still no achievement.

So I'm wondering if weapon/gear upgrades count towards this too? I have 3 more upgrades to get on my shotgun before I have 100% on absolutely everything, just trying to grind out this xp to get them... fingers crossed.

@Dropkick Hope86 - No, they should be there at all times unless you've already found them.

@MrXBob - Have you checked the Cliffside Bunker region of the map to make sure you've collected everything there? Make sure you have found the day camp and treasure map in the area. I'm pretty sure the weapon and gear upgrades count.

I was sure I had every challenge complete since all areas on the map showed 100% - I didn't realise that Cliffside Bunker didn't appear on the map. I just had to get 2 more flags there and I was done :)

I still have to get my final 2 shotgun upgrades though, and the challenge achievement popped when I got the last flag - so the weapon/gear upgrades don't count for this achievement

for the "laid to rest challenge" in shantytown i missed the first effiggie crucifix that you have to burn & pull down on the part where you have to find first aid in the airplane, but i can't go back there. at the part where you set up camp i can't jump back up in the airplane to go back to the crucifix so am i screwed????

Have you watched the video that I uploaded? It will show you the route to take to get back there. If you don't want to watch it, then the pathway is to the far-left of the campsite that is next to the helicopter.

I'm also having problems with the mines not showing up. Specifically the one out in the sea by the portugese galleon. It is the absolute last challenge I need too! Any suggestions appreciated.

ok guys im here for a big mistake! challange number 2.
i have the official guide and at the start i read: number of challange 6 and in the map there are 6 points for challange.
in this guide i see only 5 lantern and i have all for 100% in stats.
but in the official guide there are one lantern inside the building which is destroyed. I'm sure I have not got that. anyone can explain me?

The lantern inside the room can not be missed as you will need to shoot it to in order to progress through the story.

The guide seems very good, I only had to use it for challenges 11 and 12 but everything else I watched was spot on.

But I must completely disagree with your advise to do these after the main story. I can confirm 100% that all challenges can be completed on your first visit to each level. I did the game this way and got every challenge done without any problems.

The big benefit, apart from not having to revisit levels, is of course is that you get all the bonus reward XP, so you get upgrades sooner (which also makes maxing weapons quicker) and you get to actually use the skills and weapons. If you were to wait and do all challenges after then you wouldn't have the chance to actually use the upgrades.

There are total 84 Challengeobjects in Tomb Raider in 13 Challenges.

If you collect / destroy etc an Challengeobject, it is automatically saved. After the Story you can use fast Travel to each fast Travel Camp to collect / destroy the missing Challengeobjects.

The Numbers behind the linked Timelinks are the Ingame Coordinates from each Objects. In the Youtube Description you have the Timeline too.

When you Click a Item, a new Window open and the Video starts from this Time / Item.

Otherwise you can watch the Videos below the Areas and click manually to the Time. The Videos show ALL Collectibles & Challenges but i link here only the Challengesobjects.

All challenge collectibles

Search the indicated locations in the videos below to find all collectible locations for all 13 challenges. Each challenge requires you to find some collectibles. There are just 4-10 collectibles per challenge. After completing the story, you will enter Free Roam mode, where you can still complete all of the challenges. Every time you obtain one of the collectibles, the game will automatically save. Successfully complete all challenges to get the "Inconceivable!" achievement.

Check your camp sites and look at your maps. You will see a challenge needing to be done in various areas. They glow gold in the environment when using your Survival Instinct () and are just like collectibles. The only thing is, they do not ever show up on your maps. You will have to do some of your own exploration for these. If you really think you need your hand held, follow some of the below links to find out more information.

Unfortunately challenges are some sort of extra collectibles you have to shoot, burn or light up and they don’t show up on your map. Therefore you have to be actively searching for them by pressing

and activating your instinct. As with other collectibles, they will show up on screen with a yellow/gold glow. Good thing is they are not missable and can be gotten at any time, even after you finish the story.

Note: If you've already reached 100% completion in all areas and this trophy still hasn't unlocked for you, you most likely forgot Cliffside Bunker. Its location doesn't show up in Fast Travel menu and you have to get there through Shipwreck Beach. It's the area you pass when you make your way to Endurance wreck.
