How to unlock the Manual Master achievement in Tony Hawks Project 8 - Definitive Guide
I found the best way to do this, is after you complete the game (make it into the top 8) you should be relatively close to having this. I had around 115,000 ft manualed when I got here.
For the remaining feet go up the massive hill that connects the skate park to the fun park. At the top is a manual challenge spot. Start your manual down the hill and make it as far as you can in doing so. Even if you bail at the end of the manual, the feet you did go accumulates still. When you get to the bottom/bail/etc just press start and restart goal. You are put right back at the top of the hill. Its really quick as you will fly down the hill and if you can make it to the sick every time it is around 650 feet and wont take more than 10 seconds each time.
Technically you can do this the entire time from when you unlock the skate park but that's up to you.

This is an accumulative achievement that you'll obtain over hours and hours of play.
Using a manual will help you get higher scores and there are quite a few objectives in the game that require you to manual.
TIP** to do a manual just puch down and then up on the left analog stick or up and then down... they both do a manual although you need to make sure you dont fall by leaning too far the wrong way.

Just to add a tip on maxing out your manual stat.
Go to the Factory entrance at the Slums and you will see a hammer icon for building your own ramp/etc. One of the walls in this park already has a half pipe section in it for doing jumps. Just add another half pipe section on the other side of the park using the build tool.
So when you do a jump, land with the for an invert, the press then for a manual, balance it until you get to the other half pipe, jump with and then repeat.
Its a bit tedious but it has to be the quickest and easiest way to max out the 140,000 feet stat as you dont have to reload manual challenges after you fail them and the jumps will automatically keep you moving in the correct direction.
I went from 98,000 feet to 120,000 feet in no time doing this. Just another 20,000 to trick out!
